of the County Commissioners removing such engineer, shall be
affirmed, then in such case the said engineer shall not be enti-
tled to receive any salary from the date of the order of the
County Commissioners from which such appeal is taken.
Pending an appeal where such engineer has been removed the
County Commissioners may employ another engineer with
the same duties as by this Article provided for the Road Engi-
neer, or a majority of all of the County Commissioners may
by resolution remove said engineer after giving him at least
sixty days prior notice in writing and appoint a successor to
fill the unexpired term of said engineer in the same manner
as herein provided in case of a vacancy.
And the said Road Engineer before entering upon the dis-
charge of his duties as provided for in this Act shall within
thirty days give a bond to the State of Maryland in the full and
just sum of one thousand dollars, conditioned for the faithful
performance of his duties as Road Engineer and accounting *—-
for all monies that may come in his hands under the provisions
of Chapter 331. passed at the General Assembly of Maryland,
Session 1912, or of this Act, said bond to be secured by a
Fidelity Company and on failure to give such bond approved
by the President of the Board of the County Commissioners,
his appointment shall be void and the County Commissioners
may proceed to appoint another Road Engineer as herein pro-
vided for. and the expenses of said bond to be paid by the
County Commissioners of Wicomico County.
117. The County Road Engineer shall reside in Wicomico
County during the term of his office, and shall have entire
charge, control and supervision of the working, repairing and
reconstructing of the public roads, bridges and drains in Wi-
comico County, and shall make all specifications for the build-
ing of new roads, roads and bridges.
He shall employ such help, teams and implements as be may
deem necessary for the working, repairing and reconstructing
of said roads, bridges and drains, to be paid by the County
Commissioners. He shall have charge and control of all teams,
carts, wagons and other machinery and implements which may
be purchased by the County Commissioners for the use of said
roads. He shall not work out or expend on the roads, bridges
and drains of said county a greater amount in any one fiscal
year than the amount levied by the County Commissioners for
tbat purpose, without obtaining the permission in writing of
