to be registered voters of the district or precinct in which they
respectively reside and that the said affiant or affiants person-
ally saw the signers, in regard to whom he or they make others,
sign such paper; and any wilfully false statement in such
affidavit or affidavits or affirmation shall be deemed a misde-
meanor and shall subject the person making the same to the
fines and penalties prescribed by the law of this State for the
crime of perjury. No person who has been a candidate for
nomination by a political party at the primary elections pre-
ceding a general election shall be nominated for an office to be
filled at such general election in the manner prescribed by this
section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on and after the first of June, 1922.

CHAPTER 400.

AN ACT closing certain streams in Garrett County, Maryland,
to all fishing for a term of two years from June 1, 1922.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to
fish for or take in any manner any fish from any of the follow-
ing named streams and their tributaries located in Garrett
County, Maryland, for a period of two years from the first day
of June, 1922, as follows: Red Run, Murley Creek, White
Rock Creek, Salt Block Creek, Middleford Creek, Block Run,
Meadow Mountain Run and Herrington Creek west of the
county road leading from Oakland to Cranesville, W. Va.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That anyone found
aruilty of violating any of the provisions of this Act before any
justice of the peace of Garrett County or the Circuit Court for
Garrett County, shall be fined from ten to twenty-five dollars
or shall be confined in the Garrett county jail from thirty to
sixty days for each and every offense.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That one-half of the
above fine shall be paid to the informer and the remaining half
of said fine shall be paid to the "State Game Protection Fund."

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.
