of the Land Office shall cause the said cards to be marked
"Provincial Marriage References, 1634-1777.'' And upon the
approval of the Commissioner of the Land Office certifying
that the work has been delivered according to the conditions as
set forth in the Act, payment hereinafter provided shall be
made to the said Mrs. George W. Hodges.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That for the purchase
hereinbefore mentioned fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500.00),
or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is

hereby appropriated to be paid ont of the receipts into the
State Treasury not otherwise appropriated, and the Treasurer
of the State is hereby authorized and directed to pay said sum
upon the warrant of the Comptroller for the purposes herein-
before set forth.

CHAPTER 300.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 59 of
Article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Garrett County," sub-title "Treasurer," as said sec-
tion was amended by Chapter 570 of the Acts of 1906, re-
lating to the compensation to be received by the County
Treasurer of Garrett County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 59 of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Garrett County," sub-title "Treas-
urer," as said section was amended by Chapter 570 of the Acts
of 1906, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

59. The said Treasurer shall receive as compensation for
all the services required of him under this sub-title of this
Article one per cent, on all taxes actually collected by
him; and shall said Treasurer find it necessary for his
convenience at any time to appoint a deputy, he shall pay
said deputy out of his commissions; and he shall be answerable
for the acts of such deputy; and the County Commissioners
shall at the time of making the annual levy, levy a sufficient
sum, by estimate, to cover the discount allowed the taxpayers
and compensation to the Treasurer provided for in the preced-
ing sections.
