SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect on the
30th day of June, A. D. 1922.

Approved April 13th, 1922.

CHAPTER 265.

AN ACT to require any and all persons, firms or corporations to
make application to the clerk to the County Commissioners
of Montgomery Cbunty for a building permit prior to the
construction of any building where the cost of construction
of same shall exceed the sum of three hundred dollars.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That all persons, firms or corporations shall before erect-
ing, constructing, or re-modeling any building in said Mont-
gomery County where the actual cost of such construction or re-
modeling shall exceed the sum of three hundred dollars, said
person, persons, firm or corporation shall make application to
the clerk to the County Commissioners for a permit to erect
build, re-construct or remodel any building within the limits
of said county. The application for the permit to build shall
set forth in detail the location of the land and the size and
approximate cost of the building. That the clerk to the County
Commissioners shall be entitled to charge and receive the sum
of two dollars for each permit so issued and the money received
by said clerk for the issuing of said building permit shall
monthly be paid over to the County Treasurer and by the Coun-
ty Treasurer be applied and credited to the Police Fund of
said county. That the permit so issued shall set forth the loca-
tion of the land upon which the said building is to be located
together with a description of the character of the proposed
building and the approximate cost of same and said permit
shall be issued in triplicate, one to the applicant and one for
the Cbunty Assessor and one to be retained in the files of the
office of the County Commissioners. That it is the purpose and
intention of this Act to require all persons who contemplate
building, altering, constructing, re-constructing, remodeling,
any and all buildings of any nature, kind and description be-
fore so doing to obtain a permit from the clerk to the County
Commissioners and if any person shall proceed in the building,
erecting, constructing, reconstructing or remodeling any build-
ing where the cost of same shall be in excess of the sum of three
