CHAPTER 252.
AN ACT to repeal Chapter 581 of the Acts of 1910 of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, fixing and regulating the time
when oysters may be taken with the rake or tongs in the
waters of Somerset County, in order to make the general
State-wide law on said subject apply in Somerset County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 581 of the Acts of 1910 of the General
Assembly of Maryland be and it is hereby repealed.
SEC 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this Act
contained shall relieve any person from liability for any viola-
tion of the Act hereby repealed committed prior to the date
upon which this Act shall take effect, nor shall anything herein
contained affect the prosecution or punishment for any such
violation.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 253.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3TA
of Article 91 of the Annotated Code of Public General Laws,
title "Surveyor and State Survey, " sub-title "Public Roads. "
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 37 A of Article 91 of the Annotated Code
of Public General Laws, title "Surveyor and State Survey, "
sub-title "Public Roads, " be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, so as to read as follows:
37A. No opening shall be made in any such highway, nor
shall any structure be placed thereon, nor shall any structure
which has been placed thereon be changed or renewed except
in accordance with a permit from the commission, which shall
exercise complete control over such highways, except as herein
otherwise provided. No State highway shall be dug up for
laying or placing pipes, sewers, poles or wires or railways, or
for other purposes, and no trees shall be planted or removed
or obstructions placed thereon without the written permit of
the State Roads Commission, or its duly authorized agent,
