which any sanitary district is located shall be the road tax for
that sanitary district and all money collected as a road tax
within any sanitary district as laid out by the said Sanitary
Commission shall be turned over to the said Sanitary Commis-
sion and shall be used by them in the same sanitary district
where collected, and in no other, for the construction or main-
tenance of roads or streets or for sewers or maintenance of
sewers, or water supply systems or expenses in connection with
the same, as the said commission may see fit. The County
Commissioners and the County Treasurer of Anne Arundel
County shall collect said road tax as other county taxes are col-
lected and shall turn the same over to the said Sanitary Com-
mission at the end of each third month, beginning with July
1st, 1922. The said Sanitary Commission shall be responsible
for the condition of roads and streets within each sanitary dis-
trict over which they shall assume jurisdiction and the County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel County shall be relieved of
any liability for damages resulting from the bad condition of
any road or street in any of the said sanitary districts.

SEC. 24. And be it further enacted, That all Acts and
parts of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be
and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of their incon-
sistency; provided that nothing herein contained shall be taken
as restricting any control which the State Board of Health of
Maryland is empowered to exercise within the sanitary dis-
tricts, and nothing in this Act shall apply to the City of An-
napolis or to the first, second, fourth, sixth and eighth elec-
tion districts of Anne Arundel County.

SEC. 25. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this
Act contained shall be deemed or construed to authorize the
condemnation of any property owned or controlled by the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore or the County Commis-
sioners of Baltimore County, in Anne Arundel County.

SEC. 26. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage, it being hereby declared
as emergency law and necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public health and safety.
