City of Baltimore, " as repealed and re-enacted by Chapter
271 of the Acts of 1914, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

WHEREAS, It is proposed to consolidate or merge the Liberty
Heights Baptist Church of Baltimore City, the corporate name
of which is "The Trustees of the Liberty Heights Baptist
Church of Baltimore County, " with the First Baptist Church
of Baltimore City, the corporate name of which is ''The Com-
mittee of the Baptist Church in the City of Baltimore, " to
the end that the property of both churches may vest in The
Committee of the Baptist Church in the City of Baltimore;
and

WHEREAS, It is desirable that the membership of the com-
mittee mentioned in Section 3 of Chapter 30 of the Acts of
1798, entitled "An Act to incorporate the Baptist Church in the
City of Baltimore, " as repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 271
of the Acts of 1914, be increased to provide for. representation
of the united churches; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 3 of Chapter 30 of the Acts of 1798, en-
titled "An Act to incorporate the Baptist Church in the City
of Baltimore, " as amended by Chapter 271 of the Acts of
1914, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, so that the same shall read as follows, to wit:

Section 3. That the successors of the committee named in
this Act shall be chosen in the following manner, viz.: The
members of the said church twenty-one years of age and over
may and shall meet at their meeting house, or such other place
in the City of Baltimore as may be appointed by the said cor-
poration, on the first Monday in May in each year, or at such
other time as may be fixed by the by-laws, of which meetings
due notice shall always be given, on the forenoon of two several
Sundays next preceding the day of such meeting, at the place
where public worship is usually performed by the said church
and there and then they, or so many of them as may attend.

shall elect by ballot, seven or more lay members of the said
church as a committee, who shall continue to act as such for one
year, and until others shall be elected in their room.
