certify the number of votes cast "For School Bonds" and
"Against School Bonds" respectively, and file a certificate
thereof with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Wicomico
County, and another with the Clerk of the County Commis-
sioners of Wicomico County.
If the majority of votes cast at said election shall be "For
School Bonds" then the County Commissioners shall issue
bonds as provided in this Act, but if a majority of votes be cast
"Against School Bonds" then this Act shall be of no effect and
no bonds shall be issued thereunder.
SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the immedi-
ate preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon a
yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 239.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 52
of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title
''Public Education, " sub-title "Schools, " providing that spe-
cial exercises shall be conducted in the public schools on the
11th day of November, known as Armistice Day.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 52 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title ''Public Education, " sub-title "Schools, " be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to
read as follows:
52. The school year shall be divided into four terms, which
shall be designated fall term, winter term, spring term, and
summer term; and the time of beginning and closing each
term shall be regulated by the county board of education; pro-
vided, that the financial reports of the schools of the State
shall be made up and rendered to the thirty-first day of July,
inclusive of each and every year; and provided, further, that
there shall be no change in or encroachment upon the holidays
and vacation set forth and established in the following para-
graph:
