on certain officials, making the office of treasurer an elective
office and authorizing and prescribing a limitation upon the
bonded indebtedness of said municipal corporation.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the inhabitants of North Beach, in Calvert County,
Maryland, be and they are hereby incorporated and created a
corporate body under the name and by the style of North
Beach, and by that name may sue and be sued and have and
use a common seal, and have perpetual succession.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the boundary limits of said
North Beach shall be as follows: So much as lies east of the
west line of Detroit Avenue in that tract of land situate, lying
and being in Calvert County, in the State of Maryland, and
heretofore called North Chesapeake Beach, as appeared by
plat recorded among the Land Records of Calvert County
aforesaid in Liber G. W. D. No. 1, folio 497 (and also the
water abutting thereon eastward for a distance of 3, 000 feet).
And said town shall have and exercise full police powers with-
in and for a distance of one thousand feet beyond the laud
boundaries thereof.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That on the fourth Saturday in
June, 1922, and annually thereafter, the qualified electors of
North Beach shall vote for a mayor, treasurer and six council-
men, who shall each have the qualifications requisite for an
elector of said town, and said Mayor and councilmen shall to-
gether constitute the Council of said town; that an elector of
said town shall be any person of the age of twenty-one years and
upwards, who, on the day of election and continuously for a
period of thirty days prior thereto shall be the owner of real
estate in said town, whether such real estate be held indi-
vidually, jointly or as tenant by the entirety, and the husband
or wife, as the case may be, of the owner or owners thereof, re-
spectively; provided, that not more than one person shall be
entitled to vote for each one thousand square feet of land so
held; provided further, that the evidence of the ownership
of the amount of real estate required by this Act shall be the
original deed for the same or a certified copy thereof, show-
ing that it has been duly recorded, or a certificate from the
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Calvert County to that effect,
together with the receipts for town taxes up to and including
the current year, which evidence of ownership shall be sub-
mitted to the Board of Registration, hereinafter created, for
