streets, lanes or alleys or rights of way for the same, for laying
and constructing sewers, grading, curbing or improving in
any way any of the thoroughfares or public places of the City
of Annapolis or such other work of public improvements,
which may be set out prior to the holding of the special elec-
tion authorized herein and advertised in accordance with the
provisions of this Act.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That if the bonds herein provided
are sold in accordance with the provisions of this Act, the
Mayor, Counselor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis shall
levy each and every year before all of such bonds shall have
matured and been paid with, interest, a sum sufficient to pay
the interest on such bonds and to pay off such bonds as may
become due in any year, and the amounts so indicated shall be
included in the general levy of the Mayor, Counselor and Al-
dermen of the City of Annapolis.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this is an emergency
law, necessary for the health and safety of the citizens of An-
napolis, and, three-fifths of the members of the General As-
sembly concurring therein, shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

CHAPTER 110.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws of Maryland, title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Marrying Unlawfully, " said new section
so added to be known as Section 329A, and to follow imme-
diately after Section 329 of said Article, making it a mis-
demeanor for any minister or other person authorized to
perform the marriage ceremony to give any fee or reward
to any one to bring a person contemplating marriage to him
to perform the marriage ceremony, and providing the penalty
therefor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section, to be known as Section 329A, to fol-
low immediately after Section 329, be and the same is hereby
added to Article 27 of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title "Crimes and Punishments, " sub-title, ''Marry-
ing Unlawfully, " said new section to read as follows:
