tion 73A and to be designated as Section 73B authorizing a
special tax for the use and benefit of Manchester Volunteer
Fire Engine Hook & Ladder-Company No. 1.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section is hereby added to Article 7 of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Carroll County, " sub-title
"Manchester, " as amended by Chapter 132 of the Acts of 1896
to follow after Section 73A of said Chapter 132 to be desig-
nated as Section 73B, and to read as follows:

Section 73B. The Mayor and Common Council of Man-
chester is authorized and directed to levy a special tax not ex-
ceeding ten cents on the one hundred dollars on all property
within the corporate limits of Manchester liable to assessment
and taxation for the use and benefit of Manchester Volunteer
Fire Engine Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 of Manchester,
Maryland; and that said special levy shall be made annually
and collected in the same manner as the present taxes are col-
lected.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 21st, 1922.

CHAPTER 108.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
Harford County, Maryland, to issue bonds for the purpose
of paying for new public school buildings; or for remodeling
and consolidating school buildings; or for the equipment of
same, in Harford County, Maryland, and providing for a
referendum vote on said proposed bond issue.

WHEREAS, For years past many of the schools of Harford
County have been overcrowded, and it has been found impossi-
ble to raise sufficient school funds from current taxation to
adequately supply the need for new and improved school
buildings; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of building new public school build-
ings, of improving and repairing" old school buildings, of re-
moving, remodeling, consolidating or equipping the same in
