SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect upon the expiration of the term of office of the present
incumbent thereof.

CHAPTER 105.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 239
of Article 20 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Somerset County, " sub-title "Revenue and Taxes, " as
said section was amended by Chapter 162 of the Acts of
1918, authorizing an increase in the salary of the deputy
Treasurer.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 239 of Article 20 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset County, " sub-title
"Revenue and Taxes, " as said section was amended by Chapter
162 of the Acts of 1918, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
239. The Treasurer shall appoint a deputy, who shall per-
form such duties as the said Treasurer may require, and for
whose official conduct said Treasurer shall be responsible, and
who shall act in his stead and place in his absence, and said
deputy shall be paid by Somerset County an annual salary, the
amount of which is to be determined by the County Commis-
sioners of said county, provided, it shall in no event be more
than twelve hundred dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.
