WHEREAS, Arthur B. Caswell, 1211 Riverside avenue, Bal-
timore City, entered the Police Department in January, 1915,
and resigned in August, 1916, without any charges; and
WHEREAS, said resignation was due to the high cost of liv-
ing and the small salary paid in the Police Department at that
time; therefore.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City be and
he is hereby authorized to reinstate Arthur B. Caswell with the
same rank which he had at the time of his resignation in
August, 1916, provided he submits himself to physical exami-
nation and passes the physical test required for admission to
the police force of said city.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 104.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 531
and 532 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (Duckett and Clagett's Edition), title "Prince
George's County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " and to add five new
sections to said Article to be known as Sections 532A, 532B,
532C, 532D and 532E, and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 532 of said Article, providing for a fixed salary to be
paid to the Sheriff of said county, prescribing his bond, de-
nning his duties and providing for the disposition of the
fees, costs, fines and other charges collected by him.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 531 and 532 of Article 17 of the Public
Local Laws of Maryland (Duckett and Clagett's Edition), title
"Prince George's County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, and that five
new sections to be known as Sections 532A, 532B, 532C, 532D
and 532E be and they are hereby added to said Article, said
new sections to follow immediately after Section 532 of said
Article, all of said sections to read as follows:
