SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, Nineteen Hundred and
Twenty-two.

CHAPTER 84.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 214
(as amended by Chapter 489 of the Acts of 1916), 223 (as
amended by Chapter 485 of the Acts of 1912) and 229 (as
amended by Chapter 184 of the Acts of 1912) of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (Duckett
and Claggett's Edition), the same pertaining to the clerks,
salary and duties of the Treasurer of said county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 214 (as amended by Chapter 489 of the
Acts of 1916), 223 (as amended by Chapter 485 of the Acts of
1912) and 229 (as amended by Chapter 184 of the Acts of
1912) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (Duckett and Claggett's Edition) be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as
follows:

214. The Treasurer shall be entitled to appoint such clerks
or clerk as he may deem necessary, and for whose official con-
duct he shall be responsible; said clerks to be paid by the Treas-
urer out of the salary provided by law to be paid him.

223. The Treasurer of Prince George's County shall re-
ceive in full compensation for the discharge of his official
duties as collector of taxes levied for State and county purposes
the sum of six thousand dollars for each year of his term
of office, which shall be payable one-fourth on the first day
of July, one-fourth on the first day of October, one-fourth on
the first day of January of each fiscal year and the remaining
one-fourth upon final settlement of said fiscal year by the
Treasurer with the County Commissioners of Prince George's
County; and shall receive no other compensation for the collec-
tion of any taxes whether for State or county purposes.

229. The Treasurer shall furnish in addition to the regular
tax bills, whenever requested, and upon the payment to him of
a fee of fifty cents, a certified statement over his signature, of
