gation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue
in law."
Section 7G. That if any keeper or overseer of said alms-
house, or any officer thereof, shall neglect or refuse for the
space of thirty days at the expiration of his term of office, or
after being removed from his office to surrender and deliver
up to his successor in office any property, money, books, or
effects of any kind in his possession, as such officer or member
he shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon indict-
ment and conviction in a court of law, he shall be fined not
more than one thousand dollars and imprisoned in the county
jail not more than two years; but nothing herein contained
shall bar any civil suit that might be maintained for the re-
covery of such property, money, or effects.
Section 8H. The overseer shall keep a list of all poor, beg-
gars, vagrants, vagabonds, and other inmates, who shall be com-
mitted to said almshouse, and regular accounts of all materials,
crops and other things that may come to his hands as overseer,
and shall lay said list and accounts before the County Commis-
sioners of Caroline County when required.
Section 9-1. The County Commissioners shall annually
levy on the taxable property of the county, a sufficient amount
for the support of the almshouse and for the care of the inmates
therein received.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1923.

CHAPTER 528.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 51,
5.3, 60 and 81A of Article 14 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Howard County," sub-title "Elli-
cott City," as said sections were enacted by Chapter 836 of
the Acts of 1914.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 51, 53, 60 and 81A of Article 14 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Howard
County," sub-title "Ellicott City," as said sections were en-
