SEC. 9. The Commissioners shall meet in said town on the
first Monday in June succeeding their election, and from time
to time thereafter as occasion may require, or upon the call of
the Chairman.
SEC. 10. The said Commissioners shall annually elect a
Treasurer who shall also act as Clerk for said Commissioners,
and who in addition to his duties as Treasurer shall keep the
minutes of their proceedings in a well bound book, which shall
be open to inspection of all persons interested therein, and
shall as Clerk perform such other duties as the Commissioners
may assign him.
SEC. 11. The Commissioners shall annually elect one or
more Bailiffs for said town, who are hereby declared to have
all the powers of a constable of Prince George's County within
said town, and who shall perform such duties as may be re-
quired of them by said Commissioners and who shall preserve
peace and good order in said town.
SEC. 12. The Commissioners shall annually elect a Health
Officer for said town, whose duties may be prescribed by said
Commissioners.
SEC. 13. Before any elective or appointive officer of the
town of Berwyn shall enter upon the duties of his office he
shall make oath before any officer authorized by law to admin-
ister an oath in Prince George's County that he will diligently
and faithfully, to the best of his skill and judgment, perform
the duties of his office and he shall file a certificate of such oath
with the Clerk or Chairman of said Commissioners, which shall
become a part of the records of said town.
SEC. 14. The Treasurer and Bailiffs shall give bond to the
Commissioners in such penalty and with such sureties as said
Commissioners may require conditioned upon the faithful per-
formance of the duties of their respective offices.
SEC. 15. The Commissioners may pass such ordinances,
not inconsistent with law, as they may deem beneficial to the
town; they shall have supervision over the roads, streets and
alleys of said town; may open and close streets, lanes and
alleys, grade and pave the same, remove nuisances and ob-
structions therefrom, restrain all disorder and disturbances in
said town; grant and recall licenses at their discretion for
operating places of public amusement, and all such ordinances
may provide for their enforcement by a prosecution before any
