ALBERT C. RITCHIE, GOVERNOR. 1235

The members constituting said Commission shall serve with-
out compensation. The principal office of said Commission
shall be established at some point within one of the counties
aforesaid, to be designated by said Commission.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That it shall be the duty
of said Commission to advertise the resources of the counties
aforesaid and to encourage immigration therein in co-operation
with the State Board of Agriculture, for which purposes it
shall have full power and authority to make all necessary con-
tracts and regulations for the listing, appraisal, advertising
and sale of lands located in said counties, and to make such
other expenditures as said Commission may deem necessary,
within the limits of the amounts appropriated therefor by the
General Assembly in the State Budget; the same to be payable
upon the order of the Commission and on warrants signed by
the Chairman and Secretary of said Commission.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June I, 1922.

CHAPTER 497.

AN ACT to repeal, and re-enact with amendments, Section 254
of Melvin's Code of Public Local Laws for Anne Arundel
County, entitled "Justices of the Peace and Constables,"

as the same was enacted by Section 372 of the Acts of 1894.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, that Section 254 of Melvin's Code of Public Local Laws for
Anne Arundel County, entitled "Justices of the Peace and
Constables,'' be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:

SEC. 254.' That the County Commissioners for Anne Arundel
County shall provide an office for one of the Justices of the Peace
of the Sixth District of said County, at the Court House, and
the Mayor, Counsellor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis,
shall provide an office for the other Justice of the Peace of said
District, at the Assembly Rooms or City Hlall, and the said
Justices shall attend at their respective offices in the City of
Annapolis, each day (Sundays and legal holidays excepted) at
