An ACT to' authorise and empower the levy court of Worcester county
ty to assess and levy a sum of money for the purpose therein
mentioned.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS Lemuel Ennis, by his petition to this general assembly hath set forth, that he is a
very poor man, and has several small children, that one of his said children, John Ennis, is
now of the age of fifteen years, who was born blind, and continues so without the least hopes of his-
ever recovering his sight, and praying that a law may pass authorising the levy court of Worcester
county to levy a sum of money for the support of his said son out of the poor-house; and the tacts
stated in the said petition appearing to be true, and the prayer thereof being reasonable, therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the levy court of Worcester county
shall be and they are hereby direded and empowered, at their levy court annually, so long as they shall
see cause, to assess and levy on the assessable property of the said county, a sum of money, not ex-
ceeding thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said John Ennis, and that the same
be collected annually by the collector or collectors of Worcester county, and paid to such person as
the levy court of said county shall or may direct.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS Zadok Holston, by his petition to this general assembly hath set forth, that he
hath for sometime past been deprived of his eyesight, by which he is unable to get his living,
and that he is a very poor man, and praying that a law may pass for his support out of the poor-
house; and the facts stated in the said petition appearing to be true, and the prayer thereof being
reasonable, therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of
Worcester county shall be and they are hereby directed and empowered, at their levy court annually,
so long as they shall see cause, to assess and levy on the assessable property of said county, a sum
of money, not exceeding fifty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said Zadok Holston,
and that the same be collected annually by the collector or collectors of Worcester county, and paid
to such person or persons as the levy court of said county shall or may direct.

Preamble.

An ACT for the benefit of Joyce Insley, of Dorchester county.
WHEREAS Joyce Insley, of Dorchester county, by her petition to this general assembly hath
represented, that she had an illegitimate son, called George Slacum Insley, who hath lately
died intestate, and without issue, that the said George Slacum Insley hath left a small personal estate :
And whereas the said Joyce Insley hath also represented, that she is old and very infirm, and hath
prayed that the right to the surplus estate of her said son, may be relinquished to, and vested in her,
which appears to this legislature to be just and reasonable; therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of
Dorchester county shall be and they are hereby authorised and required, to relinquish and release
to the said Joyce Insley all the right, title, interest, estate and claim, which the said county hath,
or may have, in virtue of the existing laws, in and to the personal of George Slacum Insley, de-
ceased, son of the said Joyce Insley, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

An ACT to enable the levy court of Montgomery county to alter and
change the direction of a road therein mentioned.
|

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS Nathaniel Offutt, of Edward, of Montgomery county, by his petition to this ge-
neral assembly hath set forth, that he is much injured by the public road leading from the
town of Rockville, in said county, to Patowmack river, which road runs through a part of his land;
that the said road can be turned in such a manner on the line of several other tracts of land as to be
