vern, and they, or a majority of them, be and they are hereby authorised to confirm the said
road as laid out under the direction of the above-mentioned additional supplement, or to alter the
same, if in their judgment the said road hath not been laid out upon the best ground, and in the
best direction to suit the public convenience; and in case the said commissioners of review, or a
majority of them, should judge it proper to alter said road, they are hereby directed and required
to lay out, survey, mark and bound, the said road, as altered by them beginning at the Hickory
tavern as aforesaid, and running in such direction as they may judge best suited to the public con-
venience, so as to intersect the road leading from Bald Friar ferry to Peach Bottom, at or near a
place known by the name of the Stone Bridge, and shall return a plot thereof to the levy court of
Harford county, who shall, upon the examination thereof, confirm or reject the same ; and in case
the said levy court shall reject the same, the said commissioners shall and they are hereby direct-
ed again to view said road, and lay out, survey, mark and bound the same, and return another
plot thereof, and so from time to time till said plot shall be confirmed by the said levy court ; and
when any plot shall be confirmed as aforesaid, it shall be the duty of the said levy court to return
the same to the clerk's office of said county, to be there recorded.

III. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the levy court of Harford county be and they are hereby em-
powered and directed, at their meeting at which the plot directed by this act to be returned sha.il
be confirmed, or at any subsequent court, by warrant, under their hands and seals, to appoint an
overseer or overseers to open and clear the said road agreeable to said plot, in the same manner
as other roads are by law directed to be opened and cleared ; and the said overseer or overseers
shall have the same allowance as other overseers.

IV. AND, SE IT ENACTED, That the commissioners of review hereby appointed shall have an
allowance of two dollars for every day they shall severally attend in discharge of. their duties
herein imposed.

V. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the levy court of Harford county be and they are hereby em-
powered and authorised, at their meeting at which the said plot to be returned by the said commis-
sioners of review shall be confirmed, in case any such plot shall be returned and confirmed, or at
any subsequent court, to assess and levy upon the assessable property of said-county a sum of
money, in their discretion, not exceeding one hundred and fifty dollars, to be applied to the open-
ing and clearing said road agreeably to the plot, if any, which shall be returned and recorded ac-
cording to the provisions of this act, which said sum of money shall be collected and paid over as
other county charges.

VI. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the road opened and cleared under the provisions of this act
shall, when the same shall be finished and completed, be taken and deemed the public road leading
from Belle-Air to Peach Bottom ferry, and shall be amended and kept in repair in the same manner
as other public roads in Harford county.

VII. AND EE IT ENACTED, That the damages, if any, sustained by individuals over whose
land the said road herein directed to be reviewed may run, shall be ascertained according to the
provisions contained in the eleventh section of an act, entitled, An act to streighten and amend the
public roads in Harford county, and for other purposes, and the same, when ascertained in manner
aforesaid, shall be levied, collected and paid, as other county charges are levied, collected and paid

An ACT for the relief of Patrick Dwier, of the city of Baltimore,
WHEREAS Patrick Dwier, now of the city of Baltimore, a citizen of the United States,
hath lately purchased some real property lying in the city of Baltimore, of a certain Hen-
ry, Gasey, of said place: And whereas some doubts have arisen as to the validity of the title of
the said Patrick Dwier to the said property, in as much as the said Henry Casey was, never natu-
ralized agreeably to the laws of the United States ; therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the title of the said Patrick Dwi-
er to the said real property shall be and the same is hereby made as perfect and complete as if
the said Henry Casey had been naturalized agreeably to the laws of the United States ; provided
always, that nothing in this act contained shall in. any manner defeat or affect any right, title or
claim, to the said property, or any part thereof, acquired or prosecuted by any person or persons
whatever before the. passage of this act,
