to Answer to Edward Sweatnam Gen.t of A plea that
she Rend.r to him the sume of fourteen hundred & twenty
nine pounds of tobacco: which from him she Unjustly
Detaineth
And whereupon y.e s.d Edward by William Harris his Attorny
Complaineth & saith That y.e s.d Benjam y.e Testate in his
life y.e seventh Day of May in the yeare of our Lord God
one Thousand six Hundred Eighty & Fewer: Did by his
Certaine writting Under y.e hand of him y.e s.d Benjam Cause
himselfe to be bound to him y.e s.d Edward in y.e s.d sum of
Fourteen hundred & twenty & nine pounds of tobacco: or
heires Executors Administrators or Assignes: As will mene
at Large Appeare by y.e s.d Writting yeat y.e s.d Benjam y.e
Testato.r nor Elizabeth y.e Executor.x y.e afores.d sum hath
not Rendered According to y.e tenour of y.e s.d Writt but y.e
same to Render hath Denyed & as yeat Doth Denye so that
he saith he is y.e wors & hath Damage to sixteen hundred
pounds of tobacco & of this he bringeth his suite

afores.d in form afores.d Testifieth or Whose Date is y.e Day &
yeare afores.d &c
And y.e s.d Elizabeth in her proper person Cometh & Defends y.e
force & Injury when &c & for plea saith that y.e s.d Edward
his Action Against her ought not to have for that at y.e Issuing
forth y.e Originall Writt she was not Admitted Executo.rx
of y.e s.d Deceased: & of this she Demandeth Judgment of this
Worshipfull Courtt     And y.e plt Lickwise
