857 And now here att this day came the sd Edward Fry to Answer the sd presentm.t Which being framed into an Indictm.t as Followeth The Jurors for our soveraigne Lord the King & Kent County upon their Oathes do p.rsent Edward Fry otherwise called Edward Fry of sd County Inholder for that he the sd Edward on the 2.d day of November Anno Dom 1697 att Chester lower hundred in sd County within the Jurisdicon of this Court the Lords day commonly called Sunday did abuse and prophane by Knowingly and willfully suffering and permitting att his house Richard Hall to stay Tipling and Drunckning to the great dishonor of Allmighty God and scandal of Christian Religion ag.t the peace of our sd Lord the King and ag.t the Act of Assembly in that case made and provided Macklin p Dom Rege To which sd Indictm.t the sd Edward Fry pleads not guilty and for Tryal puts himselfe upon the Country And y.e King in lik manner Macklin Command was therfore given to the sheerif of Kent County that he cause Twelve good and Lawfull men of his Bailiwick soe that they be and appeare before this Court to Try y.e Issue Joyned &c.a which Jury are viz
