807 William the Third by the grace of God King of England Scotland France and Ireland Defend.r of the Faith &c.a To the sheerif of Kent County Greeting Whereas att a Court held att the house of Isaac Caulk the 8.th day of Novemb.r Anno Dom 1697 by our Justices of our County of Kent for assessing the sd County Leavy or Tax and that it doth appeare that the said Tax or charge amounts to the sume of Twenty Four Thowsand Seaven hundred Forty and Eight poundes of Tobaccoe and allsoe that there is Assessed upon every Taxable person the sume of Forty poundes of Tobaccoe p pole by vertue of an Act of Assembly made att the Port of Annapol^is^ the Tenth day of July Anno Dom 1696 Entitled an Act for the Service of Allmighty God and Establishm.t of the Protestant Religion both which sumes amounts to the sume of Forty six Thowsand Two hundred Sixty and Eight poundes of Tobaccoe att Eighty and Six poundes of Tobaccoe p pole there being returned Five hundred Thirty and Eight Taxables for our sd County of Kent Wee Command You therfore that of every Taxable person within the same that You Leavy by way of Execucon on their persons or Estates the sd sume of Eighty six poundes of Tobaccoe p pole and that the first of the sd sumes being 24748.ll of Tobaccoe You make punctual and speedy paym.t therof to the persons above Named according to the several proportions to them allotted as abovesd and the other sume being 21520.ll of Tobaccoe You pay according as in the sd Act is Expressed hereof fail not att Your peril and for soe doeing this shall be Your Warrant |
