VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS, NOVEMBER SESSION, 1807. 15
The bill to ratify and confirm the marriage articles of Ely Dorsey, of Ely, of Frederick county, and Araminta
his wife, was read the second time, and the question put, That the following clause be added thereto? viz.
provided, that nothing herein contained shall be construed in any manner to affect, or in anywise prejudice,
any creditor or creditors of the said Ely Dorsey, or Araminta his wife, or to invalidate any bargain or sale, or
contract or contracts, made heretofore by the said Ely Dorsey, or Araminta his wife, of or relating to the pro-
perty contained in the said marriage articles. " Resolved in the affirmative.
The question was then put, Shall the said bill pass? Resolved in the affirmative; which bill was sent to the
senate by the clerk.
Mr. Hawkins, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Frederick Green, printer to the state, report, that
they have taken the subject under consideration, and have examined the different documents submitted to them.
The committee are of opinion that the several applications contained in the said petition are proper and ought
to be complied with. The committee further report, that in their judgment the salary of the printer of the
state is inadequate to the duties required of him, and it would be proper to make that officer a further allowance
upon the civil list. It also appears to the committee, that the claim of the printer to a balance due him for
printing the laws compiled by William Kilty, Esquire, is well founded, and ought to be paid; therefore the fol-
lowing resolution is submitted to the consideration of the house.
