So it was resolved in the affirmative.

The engrossed bills from No. 134 to No. 139, and from No. 152 to No. 169, inclusive, were read, assented
to, and, with the paper bills thereof, sent to the senate by the clerk.

The following resolution was read, assented to, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Louis Gassaway and Henry S. Hall, each, the
sum of five dollars, for their attendance as assistant clerks this session.

The following message was read, agreed to, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

By the HOUSE of DELEGATES, January 20, 1808.
Gentlemen of the Senate,

WE have finished the business before us, and are ready to close the session, and propose to adjourn to the.
first Monday of October next; and in order to finish the remaining part of our duty, we are ready immediately
to attend in the senate chamber for the purpose of seeing the laws signed and sealed, and we appoint Mr. C.
Dorsey and Mr. Forwood, on the part of this house, to attend any gentleman on the part of the senate, to wait
on the governor, and request his attendance for that purpose.

By order, J. BREWER, clk.

The clerk of the senate delivers the bill for the payment of the journal of accounts, endorsed, " will pass. "
Ordered to be engrossed. The journal of accounts, endorsed, " assented to. " The resolution in favour of
judge Robins, endorsed, "assented to. " And the following message:

By the SENATE, January, 20, 1808.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates,

WE received your message, proposing to close the session this evening, and we have attended for that pur-
pose, but when you send us back the bill, entitled, An act to prevent for a limitted time the sale of lands or
tenements, goods or chattels, on writs of execution, and for other purposes therein mentioned, which has been
negatived by the senate on mature deliberation, we cannot consistently reconsider it, and trust you will pro-
ceed, agreeably to your message, to close the session.

By order, T. ROGERS, clk.
Which was read.

The resolution relative to the old six percent stock, deferred and three per cent. stock, was read the second
time, and the question put, That the house assent to the same? Determined in the negative.

The speaker laid before the house a letter from Thomas Greenwell, Esquire, resigning his seat in this house;
which was read.

The engrossed bills from No. 140 to 151, inclusive, were read, assented to, and sent to the senate by the

clerk. The engrossed bill No. 170, was read, assented to, and, with the paper bill, thereof, sent to the senate by the
clerk.

The clerk of the senate delivers the engrossed bills from No. 134 to 139, inclusive, and from No. 152 to 169,
inclusive, severally endorsed, " read and assented to. " And the resolution in favour of Louis Gassaway and
Henry S. Hall, endorsed, " assented to. "

The clerk of the senate. delivers the engrossed bill No. 170, endorsed, " read and assented to. "

Mr. Partridge and Mr. Williams, from the senate, inform the speaker that the governor is attending in the
senate to sign and seal the engrossed bills, and request the attendance of this house for that purpose,.

The speaker left the chair, and, attended by the members of this house, went to the senate, and there pre-
sented the following; engrossed bills to the governor, who signed the same, and affixed the great seal thereto, in
the presence of both bouses.

No. 1. An act to settle and ascertain the salary of the members of the council for the ensuing year.

No. 2. An act authorising Thomas J. Pattison, late, sheriff and collector of Dorchester county, to complete his collection.
No. 3. An act authorising Joseph Green, late sheriff and collector of Charles county, to complete his collection.
No. 4. An act authorising Nathaniel Rochester, late sheriff and collector of Washington county, to complete his collection.
No. 5. An act to ratify and confirm the marriage articles of Ely Dorsey, of Ely, of Frederick county, and Araminta his wife.
No. 6. A Supplement to an act, entitled, An act for the benefit of Robert Williams, a free black man, and of his wife and

children.

No. 7. An act for the support of Elias Thompson and Mary Thompson.

No. 8. An act to confirm an act, entitled, An act to alter, change and repeal, such parts of the constitution and form of
government of this state as relate to the division of Saint-Mary's county into electional districts.

No. 9. An act to revive and aid the proceedings of the orphans court of Saint-Mary's county.

No. 10. An act for the relief of John Dilworth, of Frederick county.

No. 11. An act for the relief of John Troxel, of Frederick county.

No. 12. An act directing the register of wills for Baltimore county to deliver over to the persons therein named the last will
end testament of Robert Burney.
