The resolution in favour of John Boudy was sent to the senate by the clerk.

Petitions from Joshua Allen and Robert Nesbitt, praying special acts of insolvency, were preferred, read,
and referred to Mr. Aisquith, Mr. R. Steuart and Mr. Harryman, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from Thomas Richardson, of Prince-George's county, praying for a public road to his mill, was
preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Hall, Mr. B. Hodges and Mr. Woodward, to consider and report thereon.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act to extend further the powers of the clerks of the
several counties of this state. ORDERED, That Mr. Smoot, Mr. Martin and Mr. Dickinson, be a committee
to prepare and bring in the same.

On motion, the question was put, That leave be given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act for the gradual abo-
lition of slavery? The yeas and nays being required, appeared as follow:

The report on the petition of John Newton was read the second time, and the resolution therein contained
assented to; which was sent to the senate by the clerk.

On motion, the question was put, That the supplement to the act, entitled, An act to ascertain the allow-
ance to jurymen and witnesses of the general court, and several county and orphans courts in this state, be re-
committed for amendment? Resolved in the affirmative.

On motion, the question was put, That leave be given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act to withdraw the
donations heretofore granted to the several academies and schools within this state, and subject the same to the
appropriation of the legislature? The yeas and nays being required, appeared as follow:

sixth judicial district of this state. ORDERED, That Mr. Davis, Mr. Shaaff, Mr. Forwood, Mr. Little and
Mr. Sudler, be a committee to prepare and bring in the same.

The house adjourns until Monday morning 9 o'clock.

MONDAY, December 8, 1806.

A HE house met. Present the same members as on Saturday. The proceedings of Saturday were read.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Caecil county, praying a road from French-town to intersect the road
laid down by the commissioners of Newcastle county, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Mitchell, Mr.
Cox, Mr. Moffit, Mr. Porter and Mr. Little, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Caecil county, counter to the petition aforesaid, was preferred, read,
and referred to the committee appointed on the petition to which it is counter.

A petition front Mary Munickhuysen, of Baltimore county, praying that she may be authorised to lease out
certain property for the benefit of her infant children, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Little, Mr.
Aisquith, Mr. Harryman, Mr. Winder and Mr. Street, to consid and report thereon.

A petition From Henry Hershberger, of Frederick county, stating, that he is greatly injured by sundry roads
running through his land, and praying relief, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr, Hawkins, Mr. Shaaff and
Mr. Waters, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from Edmund Channel of the city of Baltimore, praying to be divorced from his wife, was pre-
ferred, read, and referred to Mr. R. Steuart, Mr. Little and Mr. Harryman, to consider and report thereon.

The clerk of the senate delivers the resolutions in favour of Anthony Fox and Francis Fairbrother, endorsed
" assented to. " The bill to confirm and make valid certain proceedings of the orphans courts in different coun-
ties of this state, or the justices thereof, and the bill to appoint and authorise commissioners to review and lay
out a road therein mentioned in Harford county, severally endorsed " will pass. " Ordered to be engrossed.
