VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS, NOVEMBER SESSION, 1805. 77

to repeal the act therein mentioned; which was read the first and second time by especial order, passed, and,
together with the bill, entitled, A supplement to the act, entitled, Au act to lay out and nuke a public road
from the Black House, in Harford county, to intersect the Pennsylvania line, the bill, entitled. An act to ratify
and confirm the marriage articles made between Ely Dorsey, of Ely, of Frederick county, and Araminta his
wife, the bill, entitled, An act for the benefit of Robert Williams, a free black man, and of his wife and chil-
dren, the bill, entitled, An act to lay out and streighten a road in Baltimore county, and the resolution in
favour of Robert Halkerstone, were sent to the senate by the clerk.

Mr. Scott, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled.
An act authorising a lottery to raise a sum of money for repairing Shrewsbury church, in Kent county; which
was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

The bill, entitled, An act to empower the justices of the levy court of Saint-Mary's county to assess and
levy annually a sum of money for the purpose therein mentioned, was read the second time, passed, and sent
to the senate by the clerk.

The house, agreeably to the order of the day, proceeded to the second reading of the bill, entitled, An act
to alter and amend that part of the constitution and form of government which settles and ascertains the num-
ber of delegates of the city of Baltimore to the general assembly of this state, and the question put, Shall the
said bill pass? The yeas and nays being required, appeared as follow:

On motion, the question was put, That the following be agreed to ?

ORDERED, That the bill to alter and amend that part of the constitution and form of government which
settles and ascertains the number of delegates of the city of Baltimore to the general assembly of this state, and
which has been negatived by the house, be published with the votes and proceedings.

Determined in the negative.

Mr. Kuhn, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A further supplement to an act,
entitled, An act to incorporate companies to make several turnpike roads through Baltimore county, and for
other purposes; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

A bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled, An act for the establishment of a new public road in So-
merset county, passed at November session, seventeen hundred and ninety-eight, was read the second time,
passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

The clerk of the senate delivers a bill, entitled, An act for the support of Covinton Jones and wife, en-
dorsed, " will pass. " A bill, entitled, An act to provide for recording certain papers in the register's office
of Dorchester county, endorsed, " will pass with the proposed amendments j" which amendments were read
the first and second time by especial order, agreed to, and the bill ordered to be engrossed. And a bill, en-
titled, A supplement to an act, entitled, An act to incorporate a company to make a turnpike road to lead from
the cross roads near Richard Caton's limekiln, in Baltimore county, nearly in the direction of Jones's Falls,
to the city of Baltimore, endorsed, " will pass; " which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

Mr. Montgomery, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, en-
titled, An act to lay out, open and clear, a road in Harford county, from a place known by the name of Dar-
lington to intersect the road leading from Belle-Air to Havre-de-Grace; which was read the first and second
time by especial order and passed.

Mr. Forwood, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to lay out and make a
public road from William Pyle's saw-mill on Deer creek, in Harford county; which was read the first time and
ordered to lie on the table.

The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

THURSDAY, January 9, 1806.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday, except Mr. Cresap. The proceedings of
yesterday were read.

Mr. Hall, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled. An act for the benefit of Charles
Thomas Clarke and William Hall, devisees of Benjamin Hall, late of Prince-George's county, deceased; which
wag read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
