ORDERED, That the clerk of the general court be requested to lay before this house the bill passed last ses-
sion of the general assembly, entitled, An act to provide for the trial of facts in the several counties of this
state, and to alter, change and abolish, all such parts of the constitution and form of government as relate to
the general court and court of appeals.

The clerk of the general court delivers the bill required by said order.

The house, according to the order of the day, proceeded to the second reading of the bill, entitled, An act
to confirm an act, entitled, An act to provide for the trial of facts in the several counties of this state, and to
alter, change and abolish, all such parts of the constitution and form of government as relate to the general

Mr. Bruce, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of John B. Beall, of Allegany county, having duly con-
sidered the same, are of opinion the petitioner is entitled to the relief prayed for, and submit to the considera-
tion of the house the following resolution:

RESOLVED, That John Brook Beall, late sheriff of Allegany county, be and he is hereby released from the

payment of the nine per cent. additional interest imposed on him and arising on a balance of sixty-nine pounds

ten shillings, late a debt due to this state from him as former sheriff of said county.

A petition from John Stevenson, of Caecil county, praying an act of insolvency, was preferred, read, and
referred to the committee appointed on petitions of a similar nature.

The bill, entitled, An act for the benefit of Andrew Hamilton, of Prince-George's county, the bill, entitled,
An act to authorise the justices of the levy court of Washington county to assess a sum of money on the tax-
able property of said county for the purposes therein mentioned, and the bill, entitled, An act authorising
James Hackett, and others, securities of James R. Pratt, late sheriff, and John B. Hackett and Richard E.
Harrison, late collectors, of Queen-Anne's county, to complete the collection of the money due the said sheriff

and collectors, were read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Somerset county, praying a law may pass to authorise the levy court of
said county to levy a sum of money to complete a road, to begin at the corner of John Killum's fence, and run-
ning through the lands of Isaac Read and William Wilson, until it intersects the county road at the corner of
Samuel Read's fence, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Bayly, Mr. Hyland and Mr. Jackson, to consi-
der and report thereon.

The bill, entitled, An act for the benefit of Amelia Chance, of Caroline county, was read the second time,
passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

The house resumed the consideration of the bill, entitled, An act to confirm an act, entitled, An act to pro-
vide for the trial of facts in the several counties of this state, and to alter, change and abolish, all such parts of

the constitution and form of government as relates to the general court and court of appeals, and after some-

time being spent in debating the same, the order of the day for investing money in the Farmers Bank of Mary-

land was postponed until to morrow.
The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

A petition from Charles F. Brodhag, of Allegany county, praying that the additional nine per cent, paid by
him may be refunded, was preferred, read, and referred lo Mr. Bruce, Mr. Cresap and Mr. Rizer, to consider
and report thereon.

The house resumed the consideration of the bill, entitled. An act to confirm an act, entitled. An act to pro-
vide for the trial of facts in the several counties of this state, and to alter, change and abolish, all such parts
