November Court 1726 found against her for fornication The Sherrf of Kent County to whom the said writt was directed makes return thereof to this Court here on the third Tuesday of November being the fifteenth Day of said Month Anno Dom Seventeen hundred twenty and six the Day of return of said writt Endors't as follows viz.t Cepi Corpus p John Gresham Sherrf Kent County fs.t Memorandum that Tench Francis Gentl Attorney of the right Hon.ble the Lord proprietary that now is for the County afd who for the same Lord prop.ry in this part prosecuteth doth Come here into Kent County Court before Lambert Wilmer Esq.r and his associates his said Lordships Justices of the same County Court to wit at New Town in the County afd the twenty first Day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty and six and for the same Lord prop.ry doth give the Court here to understand and be Informed that Katharine Kelley late of S.t pauls parish in the County afd Spinster the twentieth day of March Anno Dom. seventeen hundred twenty and five at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court having been duly admonished by the vestrymen of the same parish in the afd County did afterward to wit the twenty first Day of Aprill Anno Dom. seventeen hundred twenty and six and at divers other times as well before as since the afd twentieth Day of March att the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction afd as a fornicatrix frequent the Company of a Certain Dominick Kenslaugh of the afd parish and County Labourer Contrary to the form of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided and against the peace of the said Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and Government &c.a Wherefore the same Attry of the said Lord prop.ry for the same Lord prop.ry payeth the Advise of the Court here in the premisses and due process of Law in this part to be made against the afd Katharine to Answer unto the said Lord prop.ry of and upon the premisses &c T francis Cler. pac. And the afd Katharine in her proper person Cometh and saith that she is in no Sort guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed as by the Information it is alledged and there of She putteth herself upon the Country Katharine Kelley in p pia pson And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in Like Manner saith she is Guilty T francis Lord prop.ry Thereupon |
