An act to confirm the proceedings of the President and
Managers of the Somerset Manufacturing Company, and
to amend the style of the Corporation.

Passed Feb.5, 1833
|

|
WHEREAS, the operations of the Somerset Manufactur-
ing Company have been suspended by reason of the burn-
ing of the Factories of the Steam Company of Princess
Anne, and whereas the tanning and preparing of leather,
the expression of oils, the carding, spinning, and weaving
of domestic materials, and other works contemplated in
the charter of said Company, are deemed to be promotiye
of the primary interests of the State; — Therefore,

Section I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the proceedings of the President and
Managers of the Somerset Manufacturing Company, being
in conformity to the act of incorporation, are hereby con-
firmed; and the said President and Managers, or their sur-

vivors, may proceed to hold the annual election after due
notice, at such time and place as may be most convenient
to them.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Company shall
henceforward be known by the style of "The Maryland
Manufacturing Company."

An act to Incorporate the Patapsco Savings Institution, at
Ellicott's Mills.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Thomas 13. Dorsey, Nath'l H. Ellicott
Edward Gray, Isaiah Mercer, R.M.Dorsey, F. Earlongher
B. Manaham, I. T. W. Dorsey, John Forrest, H. Ely, Geo.
Ellicott, Benj. Palmer, Andrew McLaughlin, Wm. Mc-
Laughfin, Jos. L. White, Richard Partington, Wm.Denny
Wm. Ellicott, Samuel Smith, Geo. Cooke, R.G.Stockett,
and all and every other person or persons, hereafter be-
coming members of the Patapsco Savings Institution, in

hereby created and made a corporation and body politic,
by the name and style of The Patapsco Savings Institu-
