sell the same, for cash, to the highest bidder, or highest
bidders; and on being paid therefor, shall convey the same
by deed or deeds, in fee simple, to the purchaser or pur-

preceding section, that portion of the old Ferry Road shall
cease to be a public highway, but shall ever after remain

Sec. 6. And be it encated, That the proceeds of the pro-
perty hereinbefore provided to be sold, shall be applied to-
wards the payment of the property required to be taken for
the proposed extension of Light street; and the balance of
money required to pay for the same, as also all expenses
incurred in the execution of this act, shall be assessed on
the property benefitted, or likely to be bentfitted, by the ex-
tension aforesaid.

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That the commissioners shall
return a plat of the extension of Light street, as by this act
is provided, with a particular statement of the property as-
sessed as benefitted, with the names of the reputed owners,
and of the value of the property taken for the street; the
property disposed of as aforesaid, and every matter con-
nected with their commission, as soon as completed, under
their hands and seals, to the register of the city of Balti-
more, to be filed in his office.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted. That the commissioners shall
receive, each three dollars, for every day they shall be so
employed; and their surveyor and clerk, such reasonable
