CHAP. 222.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That upon the Farmers' Bank
of Maryland, and its branches, accepting and complying
with the terms and conditions of this act, the faith of this
State is hereby pledged not to impose any further tax or

be levied upon incorporated Banks throughout the State by
any future Legislature.


CHAPTER 222.

Passed Mar., 15, 1833

An act for the relief of Mary Ann Paxlon, of Frederick
county.

Divorce

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Mary Ann Paxton, of Frederick county,
be, and she is hereby divorced, a mensa et thoro, from her
husband Robert Paxton.

Claim and interest

annulled

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Robert Paxton
shall not, by virtue of his marriage with the said Mary Ann,
be in any way entitled to, and that the said Robert Paxton
shall not be authorized to have or claim any right, title, or
interest, in the estate, real, personal, or mixed, of the said
Mary Ann Paxton, whether acquired by the said Mary Ann,
prior to, or to be acquired by her after the passage of this
act; nor shall the said Mary Ann, be entitled, in any man-
ner, to have or claim any right, title, or interest, in the es-
tate, real, personal, or mixed, of the said Robert Paxton,
whether acquired by the said Robert prior to, or to be ac-

quired by him after the passage of this act.
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Mary Ann, be
and she is hereby declared to be entitled to the custody and
guardianship of her children by her present marriage, du-
ring their minority.

Liability annulled

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the said Robert Paxton
shall not be liable for any debt contracted by the said Mary
Ann, after the passage of this act.
