1832.

and they are hereby authorised and empowered, if in their
judgment the public interest requires it, to purchase for
and in the name of said county, a piece of land not ex-
ceeding half an acre, for the purpose of keeping in repair
the public causeway in the north-west fork of said county.

CHAP. 20.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That should a purchase be
made as authorised by the first section of this act, it shall
be the duty of said Levy Court to have the same located
and distinctly bounded, and to cause to be executed to
them and their successors, a good and sufficient deed,
conveying to them, for the use of said county, the land so
purchased for the repairs of the causeway aforesaid —
which deed shall be recorded in the clerk's office of said
county.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the Levy Court of said
county are hereby authorised to levy upon the taxable in-
habitants of Dorchester county, a sum of money sufficient
to cover the expenses of said purchase, to be collected and
paid as other county charges.

CHAPTER 20.


An act to divorce Surah Block, of Dorchester county, from
her husband Arthur M. Block, of the City of Baltimore.

Passed, Feb.l, 1833

Section I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sarah Block, of Dorchester county, be
and she is hereby divorced a mensa et thoro from her hus-
band, Arthur M. Block, of the city of Baltimore.

Divorce.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Arthur M.
Block, by virtue of his marriage with the said Sarah
Block, shall not be authorised to have or claim any right,
title, or interest in the estate, real, personal, or mixed, of
the said Sarah Block, that shall be acquired by her after
the passage of this act; nor shall the said Sarah Block be
entitled, in any manner, to have or claim any right, title,
or interest in the estate, real, personal, or mixed, of the
said Arthur M. Block, that shall be acquired by him after
the passage of this act.
