now here Returned that he had taken the af^d. W^m. Baly whose body here at this day he had Ready to Answer the af^d. William
Geddes of the af^d. plea as to him it was Commanded
      Whereupon the Said William Baly at the prayer of the af^d. W^m. Geddes is Adjudged to give Special bail to the
Action af^d.    Thereupon a Certain George Baly of Somerset County Planter present here in Court in his proper person
undertook for the Said W^m. Baly that if it Should happen that Judgment in the plea af^d. Should be Rendred for the Said William
Geddes Against the af^d. W^m. Baly or that he the Said W^m. Baily Should be therein Convict that then he the Said William
Baily Should pay and Satisfie unto the af^d. W^m. Geddes the Judgment of the Court thereupon or Render his body in Execution of
Such Judgment to the Prison of the Sheriff of the County af^d. in Satisfaction thereof or that he the Said George Baly will do the
Same for him &^c
           Whereupon the Said W^m. Baily Puts in his place Littleton Dennis Gent. Attorney at Law against
the af^d. W^m. Geddes of the af^d. plea
      And thereupon at the Prayer of the Parties af^d. day is to them now here given untill next Court to be held at
Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of March then next following in the State that now Saveing to the Parties af^d. &^c.
      Att which day here Came the parties af^d. by their Attorneys af^d. And hereupon the Said W^m. Geddes Declared
Against the af^d. W^m. Baly in the plea af^d. in form following
   Somerset fs^t William Baily Late of Somerset County Planter Otherwise Called I William Baly was Summoned
to Answer unto William Geddes of A plea that he Render unto him the Sum of Seventeen pound & Ten Shillings Cur^t Money
of Maryland which to him he Owes and unjustly Detains and So forth
      And Whereupon the Said William Geddes by William Hayward his Attorney Says that Whereas the
Said William Baly on the xv day of Aprill Anno Dom. MDCCIX at Somerset County af^d. by his Certain Writing
Obligatory which the Said William Geddes with the Seal of the Said W^m. Baly Sealed here to the Court Shews whose date
ist he Same day and Year af^d. Acknowledged himself to be held and firmly bound unto the Said William Geddes in the Sum
of Seventeen pounds and Ten Shillings Cur^t Money of Maryland to be paid to the Said W^m. Geddes when he the Said William
Baly Should be thereto afterwards Required Nevertheless the af^d. W^m. Baily tho often thereto Required the af^d. Sum
of Seventeen Pounds and Ten Shillings Cur^t Money of Maryland unto the Said W^m. Geddes hath not paid but the Same to him
to pay hitherto Altogether hath Refused and Still doth Refuse and unjustly Detain Whereupon the Said William
Geddes Says he is Worse and hath Damage to the Value of Seventeen pounds and Ten Shillings Cur^t Money of Maryland &
thereof he brings Suit and So forth                                                              Pledges &^c. J. Doe & R. Roe
      And the af^d. William Baily by his Attorney af^d. Comes and defends the force and Injury when &^c. And Saith that
he Cannot deny the Action af^d. of the af^d. W^m. Geddes nor but that the Writing Obligatory af^d. is the deed of him the Said
W^m. Baly nor but that he Oweth the Same W^m. Geddes the af^d. Seventeen pounds and Ten Shillings Cur^t Money of Maryland
in Manner and form as the af^d. W^m. Geddes above Against him hath declared    Therefore it is Considered that the af^d. W^m.
Geddes Recover Against the af^d. W^m. Baily his Debt af^d. and his Damages by Occasion of the detention of that Said
195    Debt to                                   Pounds of Tobacco to the Same W^m. Geddes of his Assent by the Court here
Adjudged And the af^d. Baily in Mercy &^c

WH    Outerbridge Horsey

@    Command was given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should Take William Tully

pⁿ    W^m. Tully    Late of Somerset County Planter Otherwise Called William Tulley if he Should be found in his Bailywick &

him Should Safe keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at
Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of November Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty to Answer unto
Outerbridge Horsey of a plea that he Render him the Sum of three pounds Two Shillings and Six pence Cur^t Money of
Maryland which to him he Owes and unjustly detains and So forth And the Same day is given to the af^d. Outerbridge
here &^c       And hereupon the Said Outerbridge Horsey Declared Against the af^d. William Tully in the plea af^d. in form
following    Somerset fs^t William Tully Late of Somerset County Planter Otherwise Called William Tulley was
Summoned to Answer unto Outerbridge Horsey of a plea that he Render him the Sum of three pounds Two Shillings and
Six pence Cur^t. Money of Maryland which to him he Owes and unjustly detains and So forth
      And Whereupon the Said Outerbridge by W^m. Hayward his Att^y Says that Whereas the Said William Tully on
the xx day of January Anno Dom. MDCCLViii at Somerset County af^d. by his Certain Bill Obligatory which the Said
