March Court 1760 7 Somerset County to wit Be it Remembred that on the 19th. Day of December 1759 Personally Came before me Samuell Addams one of his Lordships Justices of the peace in and for the County of Somerset Grace Milbourn Spincer of Coventry Parish of the County aforesaid and made Oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that A Certain John Haw was the father or Begetter of the Bastir Childe that was Lately Borne of her Body and Therefore was fined thirty shillings Current Money of Maryland and she paid the same and a warrant was then Issued for the Deputed father By Samuell Addams {seal} A List of fine Grace Milburn 30 shillings for fornication Red. By Samuell Addams {seal} March 21st. 1760 Recd. thirty shillings Currt. money for the above fine pr. J Dennis shf
Same and Made Oath that a Certain Thomas Newman was the father of the Bastard Child She Stood Charged for &c Thereupon the Said Elizabeth Jones was by me fined the Sum of thirty Shillings Money of Maryland for the offence afd. which She paid down &c. Given under my hand and Seal the day and year afd. Jos. Gillis {seal}
Eighteenth
And is willing to pay his fine for the same &c. Thereupon the Said Thomas Newman was by me fined for the Offence afd. the Sum of thirty Shillings Crt Money of Maryland which he paid Down &c. Thereupon the Said Thomas Newman was Ordered to Give Security to Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from all Costs Charges And Expence that might Accrew by means of the Birth and Maintainance of the Bastard Child afd. Thereupon the Said Thomas Newman together with Isaac Newman of Somerset County planter Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord Porprietary in the Sum of thirty Pounds Crt Money of Maryland to be Levied on their bodys Goods or Chatels Lands and Tenements Joyntly and Severally to be made and Levied to the use of his Said Lordship if it happen that the Said Thomas Newman do not Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from all Costs Charges and troubles that may Accrew by means of the Birth of a Bastard Child Born of the body of a Certain Eliza. Jones &c. Given under my hand and Seal the day and Year afd. Joseph Gillis {seal}
Saith that She Cannot deny but that She is Guilty thereof and was willing to pay her fine for the Same and made Oath that a Certain Edward Bremigem was the father thereof Thereupon the Said Elizabeth Macomb was by me fined for the Same the Sum of thirty Shillings Crt Money which She paid down &c. Given under my hand and Seal the day and Year sd Joseph Gilliss {seal}
Said Edward Saith that he Cannot deny but that he is Guilty of the Premisses afd. and so willing to pay his fine for the Same Thereupon the Said Edward was by me fined the Sum of thirty Shillings Crt. Money of Maryland which he paid Down &c Given under my hand and Seal the day and year afd.
