Child Confest that She was thereof Guilty & Swore that Charles Nickols was the Father of the
Said Child Thereupon the said Sarah was by me fined the Sum of thirty Shillings for her
Offence but she being unable to pay the said Fine down was ordered to give Secry Thereupon
the said Sarah with Elgate Hitch did Acknowledge themselves & Each of them to owe &
stand justly Indebted unto his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord propry in the
sum of three pounds Currt. money of Maryland on their and Each of their Bodies good
& Chattles Lands & Tenements for the use of his said Lordship his heirs & Successors
to be made & Levied in Case the said Sarah doth not pay & satisfie unto the Justices
of the County aforesaid for the use of the said County the sum of thirty shillings Current
Money on or before the tenth day of Decr. next Ensuing Isaac Handy
Be it remembered that on this 21st. Day of March in the Year 1760 Appeared Jemimia Tyler
before me & Acknowledged herself guilty of Bearing a Bastard Child and Charged a certain
Richard Evans junr. with the Begitting of the same upon Oath & paid down a fine of
Thirty shillings for the said offence hereupon the said Richard Evans paid down a
fine of thirty Shillings for the said Charge agt. him whereupon the said Richard
themselves Indebted to
Evans & Thomas Tylor Sinr. Acknowledged ^ the Lord propry in the just and full sum
of Fifty pounds Each to be respectively made & Levied of their Goods and Chattles
Lands & Tenements for the use of the said Ld. propry in Case Richard Evans do not save
harmless & keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County from all Costs Charges that shall or
May Arise by means of the birth & bringing up of the afd. Bastard Child

Jemima Tylor's fine Recd. pr. me John Dennis Recr
Somerset County to wit Nancy Lord of Coventry Parrish in the County aforesaid
Spincer on the 3d. Day of December 1759 Personally Came before me the Subscriber and
Confessed that She had Lately Bornd of her Body A Basterd Childe and thereupon
Payd the sum of Three pounds which said Basterd Childe might Become Chargeable to
the Justoces of Somerset County and was required to give security for Bringing up of the
said &c.
Be it remembered that on the same day month and Year Abovesaid Nancy Lord aforesaid
Together with Benjamin Lankford and Isaac Dixon Both of Somerset County Planters
Personally came before me Samuell Addams one of the right Honorable the Lord propry
his Justices of the Peace in and for the County Somerset and Acknowledged themselves
Indebted to the right Honerable the Lord propry his Heirs and Sucessers in the sum of
Fifty pounds Current money of Maryland of their goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements [to]
[be] made and Levied to the use of the said Lord propry his Heirs and Suckcessors if it should
happen the said Nancy Lord should not save Harmless & keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset
County Court from all Costs Charges & Troubles that may Accrew by means of the Birth and
Maintainance & Bringing up of the said Child Taken & Acknowledged before me
