In her Proper Person & had a hearing of ye. Presentment afd. Saith that she Cannot deny
but that she is guilty of ye. Premisses in ye. Presentment above upon her Imposed in
Manner and form as by ye. Presentment afd. above against her Supposed and maketh
Oath that a Negro Edmond is ye. father of the child she Stands informed against and
is Willing to Pay her fine for ye. same &c.
Whereupon all and singular ye. Premisses being Seen and by ye. Court here fully
understood it is Considered by ye. Court here that ye. afd. Early Wright for ye. Premisses
and offence afd. Specified be taken &c. Which said Early Wright Present here in Court
as aforesaid is fined for ye Premisses and offence afd. Thirty shillings Current money
of Maryland which she paid here in Court to ye. use of ye County aforesaid &c
Whereupon ye said Early Wright is ordered to give Sery for ye Payment of ye severall
officers fees due by means of ye Prosecution afd.
                                                                    Thereupon A Certain Joseph Allen
Present here in Court in his Proper person undertook for ye said Early Wright to
pay ye. severall officers their fees due by means of ye. Prosecution afd. &c.

WH    Jane Lambden

vs    Command was given to ye. Sherriffe of Somerset County that he Should take
SW    Joshua Atkinson    Joshua Atkinson Late of Somerset County Inholder if he should be found in
his Bailywick & him should safe keep so that he might have his Body before the Justices of his Lordships BR> County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town ye. third Tuesday of March Anno Dom.
one thousand seven hundred and sixty to answer unto Jane Lambden of a plea of Trespass upon
the Case & so forth
And ye. Same day is Given to ye. aforesaid Jane Lambden here & so forth
Att Which day here Came the aforesaid Jane Lambden by William Hayward her Atty. and
the sherriffe to wit John Dennis gentleman now here returned that he had taken ye. afd.
Joshua Atkinson whose Body here at this day he had ready to answer ye aforesaid
Jane Lambden of ye. afd. plea as to him it was Commanded
Whereupon the said Joshua Atkinson at ye. Prayer of ye aforesaid Jane Lambden is adjudged
to Give Special Bail to ye. action afd. Thereupon A Certain Isaac Atkinson of Somerset
County Planter Present here in Court in his Proper person undertook for ye. said Joshua
Atkinson that if it should happen that Judgment in ye. plea aforesaid Should be rendered
for ye. said Jane Lambden against the afd. Joshua Atkinson or that he ye. said Joshua
Should be therein Convict that then he ye said Joshua Should pay and satisfie unto
ye. aforesaid Jane Lambden ye. Judgment of ye Court thereupon or Render his Body in
Execution of such Judgment to ye. Prison of ye. sherriffe of ye. County aforesaid in satisfacti:
:on thereof or that he ye. said Isaac Atkinson will do ye. same for him &c.
Whereupon ye. said Joshua Atkinson puts in his place Sameul Wilson Gentleman Atty at
Law against ye. afd. Jane Lambden in ye. afd. Plea

And thereupon at ^ Prayer of ye. Parties afd. day is to them here now Given untill next Court
to be held at Princes Ann Town ye. third Tuesday of June then next following in ye.
State that now Saving to ye. Parties aforesaid
Att which day here Came ye Parties aforesaid by their Attys. aforesaid & hereupon
ye. said Jane Lambden Complains agt. ye. aforesaid Joshua Atkinson in ye. plea
