Last afd. at the County afd. undertook and then and there faithfully Promised the Said William Miles that he
the Said John Howard would well and truly pay and Content the Said William Miles the Said Sum of Eight
pounds ten Shillings Like money afd. when he the Said John Howard Should be thereto Afterwards Required
Yet the Said John Howard his Severall Promisses and Assumptions afd. So as afd. made nothing Regarding but
fraudulently intending him the Said William Miles in this behalf Craftily and Subtilly to deceive and defraud
the Said Severall Sums of Money or Any part or parcell of them or Either of them to the Said William hath
not paid or in Any Sort Contented Altho So to do the Said John Hoawrd Afterwards to wit the day and Year Last afd.
at the County afd. and often Since by the Said William was Required but the Same or Any part thereof to the
Said William to Content or pay he the Said John Howard Altogether hath Refused and Still doth Refuse to
the Damage of the Said William Twenty Pounds Current Money of Maryland and thereof he brings Suit &c
                                                             Pledges &c J. Doe & R: Roe
   And the afd. John Howard by his Attorney afd. Comes and defends the force and Injury when &c. And
Saith that he Cannot deny the Action afd. of the afd. Wm. Miles nor but that he did Assume upon himself
in Manner and form as the afd. Wm. Miles Above Against him hath Complained and as to the damage of the
Said William by him by Occasion of the Premisses the Said John Saith and Acknowledgeth that the
afd. William hath Sustained Damages by Occasion of the Premisses beyond his Costs and Charges by him
about his Suit in that part Apposed to thirteen Pounds three Shillings and five pence Curt. Money and not
More and because the afd. Wm. Denys not this but the Same Allegation Grants to be true Prays Judgment
for these damages above Acknowledged together with his Costs and Charges afd. to him to be Adjudged
           Therefore by Consent of the parties afd. it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Wm.
Miles Recover Against the afd. John Howard his Damages afd. to the afd. thirteen pounds three Shillings
and five pence Current Money by the afd. John in form afd. Acknowledged as also
34                           Pounds of Tobacco for his Costs and Charges afd. to the Same William at his
Request by the Court now here of the Assent of the Parties afd. Adjudged which Certain Damages in the
Whole Amount to thirteen pounds three Shillings and five pence Curt. Money and
                     Pounds of Tobacco and the afd John in Mercy &c

William Waggaman and Isaac Handy of Somerset County Gent Came hereinto Court in their Proper persons and pray that
they may be Admitted to Quallifie and practice as Attorneys at Law in this Court    Thereupon the Court here Appointed Littleton
Dennis and Josiah Polk Attorneys at Law in this Court to Examine the Said Wm. Waggaman and Isaac Handy as to their Abalaties
and make Report thereof to the Court &c And Afterwards in the Same Court Came the afd. Littleton Dennis and Josiah Polk and Made
the following Report in Writing to the Court    We the Subscribers being Appointed by this Worshipfull Court to Examine into the
Abilites of Messr. Isaac Handy and Wm. Waggaman as to their knowledge in the Law We humbly Certifie that we
have Accordingly Examined them and find they are Sufficiently Qualified to practice in this Court and that they Ought
to be Admitted to practice as Such    Litt. Dennis
      Upon which the Said Wm. Waggaman and Isaac Handy and Each of them took the       Josiah Polk
Severall Oaths Appointed by Act of Assembly to be taken to the Government and Repeated the test and Subscribed the
Same with the Oath of Abjuration and also took the Oath of Attorney and are and Each of them Addmitted to
Practice Accordingly &c
