June Court 1763 244 this 5th day of Janry Anno Dom. 1763 Th Jones {Seal} To the Clark of Somerset County By Virtue of the above warrant & account proved was Issued the following Attachment Somerset fst Frederick absolute Lord & proprietary of the provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore &c to the sheriffe of Somerset County greeting we command you that you attach any the goods Chat- -tels and credits of Benjamin Burridge Late of Somerset County Gentleman if they shall be found in your Bailywick to the Value of fifty one pounds Eighteen shillings and three pence half penny Current Money of Maryland and one thousand pounds of Tobacco and when you have the same Attached or any part thereof the same in your custody Safe keep so that you have ye. Same before our Justices of our County Court of Somerset To be held at princess Ann Town the third tuesday of March next then and there to be con- -demned according to act of assembly to and for the use of a certain Levin Ballard unless the said Benjn Burridge by himself or his Attorney shall appear and answer unto the said Levin Ballard in a plea of trespass upon the Case &c according to Law and that by Good and lawfull men of your bailywick you make known unto the person or persons in whose hands you make the same Attachment that he she or they be and appear before our Justices of our County Court of Somerset to be held as afsd to shew Cause if any he she or they have why the same Goods Chattels and credits so attached in his her or their hands ought not to be condemned and Execution thereof had and made according to act of assembly in such case made and provided if to him her or them is shall seem meet and how you shall Execute this writt that you make known unto our said Justices at the day and place afsd and have you then & there this writt witness Sampson Wheatley Esqr one of our Justices of our said Court the 20th day of November in the 12th year of our Dominion &c Anno Domini 1762 Att which day here came the afsd Levin Ballard by Samuel Wilson his Attorney and the sheriffe to wit Ephraim Wilson now here returned the foregoing writt of Attachment Endor- -sed in manner following (with a schedule thereto annexed) By Virtue of the within Attachment To me directed I do humbly certify the Justices within named that that by Virtue of the within writt to me directed I have attached of the goods and chattels of the within Benjamin Burridge the sundry Articles in the schedule hereto annexed amounting to the Value of the sum of thirty six pounds two shil -lings & four pence towards satisfying the said Levin Ballard his debt within mentio- -ned which said Goods and Chattels I have ready for the Condemnation or further order of the said Justices at the Time within directed as within I am commanded and no other Goods are found in my Bailywick to satisfy the plf. of the residue of his debt . . . . So answers A Schedule of the goods and Chattles of Ben Burridge Attached Eph: Wilson, sheriffe the 6th Day of January Anno Dom. 1763 for Mr Levin Ballard towards satisfying as well a Debt of Fifty one pound Eighteen shilings Current Money as one thousand pounds of Tobacco &c
