Somst County To witt The Deposition of William Wheatley Sener aged Forty Four years or their a
-bout being Sworn acording To the above directions deposeth as follows that about Eighteen years
agoe Captn. Stephen Horsey Got Southy Whittington To Run out Some of the Courses of Cow Quarter
and begun at a White Oak Standing on the South Este End of a Planten Hammok in the possesi
-on of the afsd Horsey and their Reason for begining at the South Este End was to find out where the

first bounder was and at the End of 82 poles their marked a scruby ^ Oake as a Memoriall of the
first bounder which is now Cut down and further Sayeth not
Somt Coty To wit The Deposition of Thomas Bayly aged Eighty Two Years or thereabouts being Sworn acord
-ing To the above Directions deposeth as follows that Some Time Since the showing of the bounder
described in this His other Deposition Captn Stephen Horsey Shewed the oake that is described in
William Wheatley's deposition to this deponant and Told Him it was the second bounder of
Cow Quarter and further Saith not
Somerset Coty to wit
The deposition of Revill Horsey aged thirty one Years or their abouts being Sworn acording
To the above Directions deposeth as follows that about Twenty Four Years agoe his Father Stephen
Horsey & his brother John Horsey shewed this deponant the Tree that Stands on the South Eest End
of the Hamock & Told him it was the Second bounder of Cow Quarter and this Deponant further
Saith that he knew the afsd Tree when it was a green Growing Tree which appeared to be mar
-ked and further Saith not
(The below Depositions are taken in the behalf of the defendant John Davis and at his request)
Somt Coty To wit the deposition of Sampon Wheatley aged Fifty one Years or their about being
Sworn on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God deposeth as follows that as near as he can
Remember about fifteen or Sixteen years agoe he was present when Capn Stephen Horsey
had a company of Peopel & Commissioners takeing depositions To Some bounders of his land
and this deponant further Saith Captn Horsey shewed them a large dead White Oak standing on or
        South
near the ^ East End of his the said Horsey's planting Hammock & Told then that the said Oak
was a bounder of a Tract of Land Called Cow Quarter But this deponant does not Remem
-ber what bounder of Cow Quarter but Further Saith that he heard him make no mention
of any other bounder of the aforesaid Tract of Land called Cow Quarter at that Time and fur
-ther Saith not
The Deposition of Kirk Gunby aged fifty nine Years or their abouts being Sworn acord
-ing To the above directions deposeth as follows that about Fifteen or Sixteen Years agoe
                       Horsey
Captn. Stephen ^ shewed theis Deponant and Sundry others a Large dead white Oak Sanding
on the South East End of a Planten Hammock and Told him this deponant that Tree was
the first Bounder of Cow Quarter or Cow Quarter begun at that Tree and further Sayeth not
The Deposition of Benjamin Lankford aged fifty three Years or thereabouts being Sworn acord
-ing To the above directions Deposeth as the above Kirk Gunby and further Sayeth Not
The deposition of Josephas Bell Aged Forty three or there about being Sworn acording To the above
directions deposeth as follows that about fifteen or Sixteen Years ago that Stephen Horsey
which is now deceased had a commission To prove the bounds of Some Tracts of Land and he Came
                                                                                                East
with the Company To a large White Oak which stood on the South ^ End of a Planten Hamock
in Possession of the said Horsey and this deponant further Saith that the AafsdHorsey Layeth
his hand on the afsd Tree and Said that Tree was the first bounder of Cow Quarter or that Cow
Quarter begun at that Tree and this deponant Further Saith that Som Months afterward
John Horsey asked this deponant To walk over To the afsd Hamock To To Settle a bounder of Cow
Quarter and this deponant Told him that Bounder would Last Longer than any post he
could Set up and The said John Horsey Told this deponant that they found their first bounder
ought To stand on the Northern End of the Hamock by their Grant & that his Father and he had
