Thereof Indebted being the said John in Consideration thereof afterwards to wit the day and year afd at the
County afd upon himself did assume and to the said Moses then and there faithfully promise that he the
said John when he should be thereto afterwards Required the sum of Money afd To the afd. Moses he wou
would faithfully pay and Content And Whereas also the said John afterwards to wit the same day and
Year abovesaid at the county afd in Consideration that he the said Moses at the Special Instance and
Request of him the said John before the Time Last mentioned his work and Labour had bestowed in
in and about the Visiting and curring the said John of Certain wounds which the said John had in his
Body Received before that Time assumed upon himself and to the said Moses then and there faithfully
promised that he the said John So Much Money as he the said Moses Reasonably deserved for Such
his Labour and Service to have to the same Moses when he should be thereto afterwards required well
and faithfully would pay and Content and the said Moses in Fact Says that he the said Moses Reasona
-bly deserved to Have for his Labour in cureing and Healing the said John So as afd Visited Healed and
Cured five pounds Ten shillings and Six pence Current Money whereof he the said John afterwards
to witt the day and Year abovesaid at the county afd Had Notice Nevertheless the said John his seve
-ral promisses and assumptions afd in form afd Made not Regarding the several Sums of Money afd
to the afd Moses Hath not paid Nor him for the same in any Sort Contented but that to do
altogether Hath Refused and Still Doth Refuse altho the same To do afterwards to wit the
day and Year afd at the County afd and often Since by the said Moses he was Required To the da
-mage of the said Moses Twenty pounds current money of Maryland and thereof he bring

hereupon the afd John Records prays further leave thereof To Imparle here untill Next Court to be
Held at princess Ann Town the third tuesday of November then Next following and he hath it and the
same day is given To the afd Moses Allen here also &c
Att which day here Came as well the afd Moses Allen as the afd John Records by their Attorneys afd and here
-upon the afd John Records prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill Next Court To be held at princess Ann Town
the third tuesday of March then next following and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd Moses Allen here also
Att which day here Came as well the afd Moses Allen as the afd John Records by their Attorneys afd and hereupon
the afd John as before defends the force and Injury when &c and Says that he Cannot deny the action afd of
the afd Moses Allen nor but that he did assume upon himself in Manner and form as the afd Moses Allen a
-bove against him hath complained and as to the damage of the same Moses by him by occasion of the premises
in this part Sustained the same John Records Saith and acknowledgeth that the afd Moses, Hath Sustained damages
by occasion of the premises beyond his Costs and charges by him about his Suit in this part opposed to five

pounds
