Spencer Daugherty
     bound to    Spencer Daugherty an orphan of his own free consent is bound out by the court
Richard Dickerson    here an apprentice according to act of assembly in such case provided unto
unto Richard Dickerson of somerset county mariner untill he the said Spencer Daugherty
should arrive at the age of twenty one years the said Spencer Daugherty to serve his said mas
-ter the full term afd. during which Term the said apprentice his said Master well and faithfully
he shall serve his secrets keep his commandments Lawfully and honestly Every where willing
-ly he shall doe and in all things as a good and faithfull apprentice he shall demean himself
towards his said Master and all his during the Term afd.       In consideration of which ser
-vice the Richard Dickerson present here in court in his proper person covenanteth with the Justi
-ces of the same court in court Judicially sitting in manner and form following that is to say that
is to say that he the said Richard Dickerson shall and will during the Term afd. Learn his said
apprentice to read write and cypher as far as the Rule of three Inclusive & Navigation so far
as through Mercato sailing and at the Expiration of his servitude give him a Quadrant scale &
             Mariners compass Rectified and Callender
Dividers ^ and likewise find and provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing lodging and cloa
-thing sufficient for such an apprentice to have and wear during the Term afd.       Whereupon
the said Richard Dickerson is ordered to give security to comply with the covenants afd.
Thereupon the said Richard Dickerson together with John Weatherly & William Stuart of
somerset county planters his securities all present here in court in their proper persons ackow
-ledged themselves Indebted unto the afd. Spencer Daugherty in thirty pounds current money of mary
-land of their bodies goods or Chattels Lands and Tenements joyntly and severally to the use of the said
Spencer Daugherty his heirs and assigns to be made and levied if it happen that the said Richard
Dickerson do not during the Term afd. Learn his said apprentice to read write and cypher as far
as the Rule of three Inclusive and Navigation so far as through Mercato sailing and at the Expira
-tion of his servitude do not give him a Quadrant Scale and dividers mariners compass rectified & callen
-der and do not likewise find and provide for his said apprentice Meat drink washing lodg
-ing and cloathing sufficient for such an apprentice to have & wear during the Term afd.

Christopher Piper
      bound to    Christopher Piper an orphan of his own free consent is bound out by the court
Thomas Handy    here an apprentice according to act of assembly in such case provided unto
Thomas Handy of somerset county Mariner until he the said Christopher Piper should arrive at
the age of Twenty one Years the said Christopher Piper to serve his said Master the full Term
afd. during which Term the said apprentice his said Master well and faithfully he shall serve
his secrets keep his commandments Lawfully and honestly Every where willingly he shall doe and in all
things as a good and faithfull apprentice he shall demean himself towards his said Master and all
his during the Term afd.
      In consideration of which service the said Thomas Handy present here in court in his pro
-per person covenanteth with the Justices of the same court in court Judicially sitting in Manner &
form following that is to say that he the said Thomas Handy shall and will during the Term afd. Learn
his said apprentice to read write and cypher as far as the Rule of three Inclusive and to be a Sailor or
Common Coaster and at the Expiration of his servitude give him a new suit of cloaths over and above his com
-mon wearing cloaths and likewise find and provide for his said apprentice Meat drink washing lodging
and cloathing sufficient for such an apprentice to have and wear during the Term afd. Whereupon the said
Thomas Handy is ordered to give security to comply with the covenants afd. Thereupon the said Thomas
Handy Together with George Handy & Isaac Coulbourn of somerset county planters his securities all pre
-sent here in court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the afd. Christopher
