August Court 1762 175 any thing of a pine that was a bounder of Castle Haven Standing any where there about who answered that she did not know any thing of a Pine being the Bounder of Castle Haven but that she knew a pine that stood Between the Hous and River to be a Bounder of Robert Crouches Land and this Deponant further saith that there was one John Records in Company with them and that they walked down to the River side and Either as they went to the River or Returning back the said Records stept a Little our of the Road where there Lay Sum Oystershels and Said here is the Place that the pine Stood meaning Crouches Bounder that the said Mary Jarrat had spoke of and further this Deponant Sayeth not Alexander Fullaton the place they shewd. us where the pine stood is a Little to the Eastward of Mr. Joshua Turpons shop the said Turpin Living in the house that the Said Crouch did then Live in and owns the Land which Land is Called do bitter at which place we Caused a Cedar post to be set up markt with Sixteen notches // The Above Depositions was taken the 7th day of Augt. 1762 Before Thomas Gilliss Mathew Cannon
and George Handy of Somerset County Gent: Greeting know ye that we have appointed you or any three or two of you to be our Commission :ers To Examine Evidences on behalf of a Certain Jarvis Jenkins of the County afsd: in Relation to the Bounds of a Tract of Land Called Hogs Neck or any Other Lands on which the Bounds of the afsd Land may Depend We therefore Require you or Any three or two of you at Some time and Place as to you or any three or two of you it Shall seem Convenient you meet on the afsd Land Called Hogs Neck or any other Land on which the Bounds of the afsd Land may Depend you first having taken your Oaths on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God and their Cause to Come Before you or any three or two of you all such Evidences as Shall be to you or any Three or two of you Nominated By the said Complainant or Deft. and that you or any three or two of you Examine them upon their Corporal Oaths to be By you or any three or two of you administred on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God in the Presents of the Complainant or Deft. if |
