Depositions thereto annexed July the thirteenth 1762 Then Came
Thomas Gilliss and Marthew Cannon before me the subscriber
and was qualifyd. to Execute the within Commission agreeable
to an Act of Assembly in Such case made and provided before
                                                                  Ephraim King
Be it Remembred That whereas the worshipfull the Justices of
Somerset County by their Commission to us Directed bearing date
the Eighteenth day of June 1762 for the Examining of Evidences to
Perpetuate the Boundaries of a Certain Tract of Land Called
Castle Haven Lying on wecomoco River part in the possession
of John Readish and in Obedience to the said Commission after
being duly quallified as the Law directs we Proceeded to Advertise
the time of Meating on the Said Land for the Executing the said
Commission and Accordingly Appointed the Seventh day of
August 1762 at which time we met on the said Land Called
Castle Haven and took the following Depositions Vizt

The Deposition of Thomas Goddard Aged Seventy four years
or thereabout being sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty
God Deposeth and Saith that for fifty years by past he has
known a gum that stands on the East Side of a small drean
a Little Distance from the marsh and to the westward of John
Readishs. house Deamd and allowed to be the Bounder of a
Tract of Land belonging to one Jonas Paswaters and had been
Informed by sundry of the old Standards of the same but did not
Remember the name of the Land and further Saith not

The Land that belonged to Jonas Poswaters which this gum is a
bounder of is Called Castle Heaven and Begins at the said gum
which we Caused to be new marked
The Deposition of Alexr. Fullaton aged fifty Eight years or
thereabout being Sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God
Deposeth and Saith about Thirty years by past he was with his mother
Sarah Hougin who was then Oner of part of a Tract of Land Called
Castle Haven and Had a Commission to prove the Bounders of the
Said Tract and that they went to Robert Crouchs. house and this
Deponant Saith that amongst other People there was one Mary
Jarrat present and the said Sarah Hougin askt her if she knew any
