xx day of August Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and Sixty ^ at the parish afd. in the County afd. did Commit fornication
with a Certain Elizth. Martin and a Bastard Child on the body of the Said Elizth. then and there did beget to the high
displeasure of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in Such Case offending Against the peace of the Said Lord
Propry that now is his good Rule and Government and Against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case provided &c
           Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he should Take the Said Charles Williams
Immediately if &c. to Answer &c.    And now to witt at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday
of August and Year afd. before the Justices thereof Came the afd. Charles Williams in his proper person and had
a hearing of the Information afd. Saith that he Cannot deny but that he is Guilty of the premisses above upon him
Imposed in Manner and form as by the Information afd. Above Against him Supposed and is Willing to pay his fine
for the Same &c.    Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being Seen and by the Court fully understood it is
Considered by the Court here that the afd. Charles Williams for the offence afd. be taken &c. which Said Charles Williams
present here in Court as afd. is fined for the offence afd. the Sum of thirty Shillings Curt Money which he paid to the
Sheriff for the use of the County &c.    Whereupon the Said Charles Williams is ordered to Give Sery to Save and keep
Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from all Costs Charges and troubles that may Accrew by means of
the birth of the Child afd.    Thereupon the Said Charles Williams with George Dashiell of Somerset County planter
present here in Court in their proper persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the afd. his Lordship the
Lord Propry in thirty Pounds Curt Money of Maryland of their bodys Goods or Chattles Lands and Tenements
Joyntly and Severally to the use of his Said Lordship his heirs and Successors to be made and Levied if it happen
that the Said Charles Williams do not Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from
all Costs Charges and troubles that may Accrew by Means of the Birth of the bastard Child afd. &c.

WH LD    Ezekiell Mathis

@    Command was given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should Take Elijah Wood
SW    Elijah Wood    Late of Somerset County Planter Otherwise Called Elijah Wood of Somerset County in the province
of Maryland if he Should be found in his Bailywick and him Should Safe keep so that he might have his body
before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday
of November Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty to Answer unto Ezekiell Mathis of A plea
that he Render unto him the Sum of Seventy Eight pounds Curt Money of Maryland which to him he Owes and
Unjustly detains and So forth       And the Same day is given to the afd. Ezekiell here &c
           Att which day here Came the afd. Ezekiell Mathis by Littleton Dennis his Attorney and the Sheriff
to witt John Dennis Gent now here Returned that he had taken the afd. Elijah Wood whose body here at this day
he had Ready to Answer the afd. Ezekiell Mathis of the afd. plea as to him it was Commanded
             Whereupon the Said Elijah Wood at the prayer of the afd. Ezekiell Mathis is Adjudged to give
Special Bail to the Action afd.    Thereupon a Certain Benjamin Benston of Somerset County Planter present
here in Court in his Proper Person undertook for the Said Ezekiell Mathis and Assumed upon himself that if it
Should happen that Judgment in the plea afd. Should be Rendred for the Said Ezekiell Mathis Against the afd.
Elijah Wood or that he the Said Elijah Wood Should be therein Convict that then he the Said Elijah Wood
Would pay and Satisfie unto the afd. Ezekiell Mathis the Judgment of the Court thereupon or Render his body in
Execution of Such Judgment to the prison of the Sheriff of the County afd. in Satisfaction thereof or that he the Said
Benjn. Benston will do the Same for him &c
           Whereupon the Said Elijah Wood puts in his place Saml. Wilson Gent Attorney at Law
Against the afd. Ezekiell Mathis of the afd. plea    And thereupon at the prayer of the parties afd. day is to
them now here given untill next Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of March then next
following in the State that now Saveing to the parties afd. &c    Att which day here Came the parties afd. by their
Attorneys afd. And hereupon the Said Ezekiell declared Against the afd. Elijah in the plea afd. in form following
Somerset fst Elijah Wood Late of Somerset County Planter Otherwise Called Elijah Wood of Somerset County in
the Province of Maryland was Summoned to Answer unto Ezekiell Mathis of A plea that he Render him Seventy
Eight Pounds Curt Money which to him he Owes and Unjustly detains &c
           And Whereupon the Said Ezekiell by Littleton Dennis his Atty Says that Whereas the Said
Elijah the xxi day of August Anno Dom. MDCCLIX at the County afd. by his Certain Writing Obligatory
