to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of November then next following and he hath it and the
Same day is Given to the afd. Smith here also &c
           Att which day here Came as well the afd. Smith Horsey as the afd. Elijah Tull by their Attorneys afd.
And hereupon the Said Elijah prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next Court to be held at princes
Ann Town the third Tuesday of March then next following and he hath it and the Same day is Given to the
afd. Smith here also &c.    Att which day here Came as well the afd. Smith Horsey as the afd. Elijah Tull by their Attys
afd. And hereupon the Said Elijah prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next Court to be held at
Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of June then next following and he hath it and the Same day is Given
to the afd. Smith here also &c.    Att which day here Came as well the afd. Smith Horsey as the afd. Elijah Tull by
their Attorneys afd. And thereupon the Said Smith his Writt and declaration afd. Against the afd. Elijah Tull did
not prosecute with Effect but Voluntarily permitted his Suit to be discontinued &c

      Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the afd. Smith Horsey take nothing by his Writt afd. but that he
and his Pledges of Prosecuting to witt John Doe & Richard Roe are in Mercy and that the afd. Elijah Tull Goe thereof
without day Also it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Elijah Tull Recover Against the afd. Smith Horsey
129                                            Pounds of tobacco for his Costs and Charges by him about his defence in that part
Sustained to the Same Elijah by the Court here of his Assent Adjudged According to Act of Assembly in Such Case made &
Provided and that the afd. Elijah have thereof Execution &c

His Lordship
@    Somerset fst The Jurors for his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord propry that now is for the body of
Ann Crockett    Somerset County upon their Oath Present that Ann Crockett Late of Stepney Parish in the County afd. Spinster
on the Twentieth day of Aprill in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty at the Parish afd. in the County
afd. did Commit Fornication with a Certain Person to the Jurors unknown and did permit the Same unknown person then &
there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and a bastard Child on the body of her the Said Ann then and there to beget
to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in Such Case Offending Contrary to the peace
of the Said Lord Propry that now is his Good Rule and Government and Against the form of the Act of Assembly
in Such Case made and Provided and So forth
           Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take the Said Ann Crockett
if She Should be found in his Bailywick and her Should Safe keep so that he might have her body before
the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of June
Anno Dom. 1762 to Answer unto his Said Lordship of and Concerning the Indictment afd. &c
        Att which day here Came the afd. Ann Crockett by Saml Wilson her Attorney and had a hearing of the Indictment
   and the Same Attorney
afd. ^ Saith that he Cannot deny but that the afd. Ann Crockett is Guilty of the premisses in the Indictment afd. mentioned
above upon her Imposed in Manner and form as by the Indictment afd. Above Against her Supposed but will not declare the
father of the Child but is Willing to pay her double fine for the Same According to Act of Assembly in Such Case provided &c
           Whereupon all and Singular the Premisses being Seen and by the Court fully understood it is Considered
by the Court here that the afd. Ann Crockett for the Premisses and Offence afd. in the Indictment afd. Specified be
taken which Said Ann Crocket is fined for the Premisses and offence afd. the Sum of three pounds Curt Money which
She paid here in Court to the Sheriff for the use of the County &c    Joseph Scroggin Security for payment of fees

The Same    Somerset to wit Be it Remembred that George Hayward Gent Attorney of the Right honrble the
@    Lord Propry that now is who for the Same Lord Propry in this Part Prosecuteth doth Come here into the
Pris: Mardike    County Court of the Same Lord Propry held for Somerset County to wit at Princes Ann Town in the Same
County before Isaac Handy Esqr and others his Associates the Said Lord Propry his Justices of the Same County Court and for
the Same Lord Propry doth give the Same Justices here to Understand and be informed that Pricilla Marridike Late of
Coventry Parish in the Said County Spinster the xiii day of June in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven
hundred and Sixty one at the Parish afd. in the County afd. did Commit fornication with a Certain person unknown and did
permit the Same unknown person to have Carnal knowledge of her body and a bastard Child on the body of her the Said
Pricilla then and there did beget to the great displeasure of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in Such Case
offending Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord Propry that now is his Good Rule and Government and Against the
form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided and So forth And Whereupon the Same Attorney of the
Same Lord Propry for the Same Lord Propry prays Advice of the Court herein the Premisses and that due process of Law may
