	@	Command was Given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take
WH	Thomas Ackworth	Thomas Ackworth Late of Somerset County Planter if he Should be found in his Bailywick

and him Should Safe keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of
Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August Anno Dom. one thousand Seven
hundred and Sixty One to Answer unto Alexander Stuart of A plea of trespass upon the Case &^c. And the Same
day is Given to the af^d. Alexander here &^c
           Att which day here Came the af^d. Alex^r. Stuart by Josiah Polk his Attorney and the Sheriff
to witt John Dennis Gen^t now here Returned that he had taken the af^d. Thomas Ackworth whose body here
at this day he had Ready to Answer the af^d. Alexander Stuart of the af^d. plea as to him it was Commanded
        Whereupon the Said Thomas Ackworth at the prayer of the af^d. Alex^r. Stuart is Adjudged
to Give Special Bail to the Action af^d. Thereupon a Certain                   of Somerset County planter
Present herein Court in his Proper Person undertook for the Said Thomas Ackworth and Assumed upon himself
that if it Should happen that Judgment in the Plea af^d. Should be Rendred for the Said Alexander
Stuart Against the af^d. Thomas Ackworth or that he the Said Thomas Ackworth Should be therein Convict
that then he the Said Thomas Ackworth Should pay and Satisfie unto the af^d. Alex^r. Stuart the
Judgment of the Court thereupon or Render his body in Execution of Such Judgment to the Prison of the
Sheriff of the County af^d. in Satisfaction thereof or that he the Said                                     Will do the
Same for him &^c.       Whereupon the Said Thomas Ackworth Puts in his place W^m. Hayward Gen^t
Attorney at Law Against the af^d. Alex^r. Stuart of the af^d. plea
           And thereupon at the Prayer of the Parties af^d. day is to them now here Given untill next Court
to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of November then next following in the State that
now Saveing to the Parties af^d. &^c       Att which day here Came as well the af^d. Alexander Stuart as the
af^d. Thomas Ackworth by their Attorneys af^d. And hereupon the Said Alex^r. Complained Against the af^d.
Thomas in the plea af^d. in form following    Somerset fs^t Thomas Acworth Late of Somerset County Planter
was Attached to Answer unto Alexander Stuart of A plea of trespass upon the Case and So forth
           And Whereupon the Said Alexander by Josiah Polk his Attorney Complains that Whereas the Said
Thomas on the Twenty Second day of May Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty one at the
County af^d. was Indebted unto the Said Alexander in the Sum of Nine pounds fifteen Shillings and one
penny Cur^t Money of Maryland for the Articles in the Account hereto Annexed Mentioned and So thereof
Indebted being the Said Thomas on Consideration thereof Afterwards to wit the day and Year af^d. at the County
af^d. upon himself did Assume and to the Said Alexander then and there faithfully Promise that he the
Said Thomas when he Should be thereto afterwards Required unto the Said Alexander he would faithfully
pay and Content Nevertheless the Said Thomas his Promise and Assumption af^d. in form af^d. made
