WH LD WA    William Coulbourn    Command was Given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take
   SW
   William Coulbourn Late of Somerset County Planter if he Should be found in his Bailywick
And him Should Safe keep so that he might have his body before our Justices of our County Court of Somerset to be
held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of November Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and
Sixty to Answer unto Catherine Dogan of A plea wherefore with force and Arms on her the Said Catherine
at the County afd. he made an Assault and Beat Wounded Imprisoned and ill treated her and her in Prison
without any Reasonable Cause and Against the Law and Custom of this Province of Maryland for a Long time
did detain and other harms to her the Said Catherine then and there did to the Great damage of her the Said
Catherine And Against Our Peace that now is &c. And the Same day is Given to the afd. Catherine here &c
      Att which day here Came the afd. Catherine Dogan by Josiah Polk her Attorney and the Sheriff to witt
John Dennis Gent now here Returned that he had taken the afd. William Coulbourn whose body here at this
day he had Ready to Answer the afd. Catherine Dogan of the afd. Plea as to him it was Commanded
        Whereupon the Said William Coulbourn puts in his Place William Hayward Gent Attorney
at Law against the afd. Catherine Dogan of the afd. plea
        And thereupon at the Prayer of the parties afd. day is them now here Given untill next Court to
be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of March then next following in the State that now
Saveing to the Parties afd. &c
        Att which day here Came as well the afd. Catherine Dogan as the afd. William Coulbourn by
their Attorneys afd. And hereupon the Said Catherine Dogan Complained against the afd. William
Coulbourn in the plea afd. in form following
Somerset fst William Coulbourn Late of Somerset County Planter was Attached to Answer unto Catherine
Dogan of a plea wherefore with force and Arms on her the Said Catherine at the County afd. he made
an Assault and Beat wounded Imprisoned and Ill treated her and her in Prison without any
Reasonable Cause and Against the Law and Custom of the province of Maryland for a Long time did
detain and other harms to her the Said Catherine then and there did to the Great damage of her the Said
Catherine And Against the peace of his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord Propry his good Rule
and Government And So forth       And Whereupon the Said Catherine by Josiah Polk her Attorney
Complains that the Said William on the tenth day of January in the Year of our Lord One thousand
Seven hundred and Sixty at the County afd. with force and Arms on her the Said Catherine he made an
Assault and Beat wounded Imprisoned and Ill treated her and her in Prison without any Reasonable
                                                                                                                 for
Cause and Against the Law and Custom of the Province of Maryland for a Long time did detain to witt ^ the
Space of Eleven Months from thence next Ensuing did detain and other harms to her the Said Catherine then
and there did to the Great Damage of the Said Catherine And Against the peace of his Lordship the Right
Honrble the Lord Propry his Good Rule and Government and So forth whereby the Said Catherine Says that
She is prejudiced and hath Damage to the Value of One hundred Pounds Curt Money of Maryland &
therefore She brings Suit and So forth                                          Pledges &c. J: Doe & R: Roe
        And the afd. William Coulbourn by his Attorney afd. Comes and defends the force and Injury when &c and
prays Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of
March then next following and he hath it and the Same day is Given to the afd. Catherine here also &c
           Att which day here Came as well the afd. Catherine Dogan as the afd. William Coulbourn by
their Attorneys afd. And hereupon the Said William prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill
Next Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of June then next following and he hath it
And the Same day is Given to the afd. Catherine here also &c
           Att which day here Came as well the afd. Catherine Dogan as the afd. William Coulbourn by their
Attorneys afd. And hereupon the Said William prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill Next Court
to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August then next following and he hath it and the
