@	Somerset to wit The Jurors for his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord Propry that now is
John Watkins	for the body of Somerset County upon their Oath Present that John Watkins Late of Stepney

Parish in the County af^d. Planter on the xvii Day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven
hundred and Sixty Two with force and Arms at the Parish af^d. in the County af^d. in and upon a Certain William
Nutter in the peace of God and the Said Lord Prop^ry then and there being an Assault did make and him the
Said William then and there did beat wound and Ill treat so that of his Life it was much dispaired and
Other harms to him the Said William then and there did to the Great Damage of the Said William
And Against the peace of his Lordship the Right Hon^rble the Lord Prop^ry that now is his good Rule and
Government and So forth
      Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should Take the Said
John Watkins if &^c. to Answer &^c    And now to witt at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann
Town the third Tuesday of March Anno Dom. 1762 before the Justices thereof Came the af^d. John
Watkins According to a Certain Recog^e. by him before that time Acknowledged and had a hearing of of the
Indictment af^d. Saith that he will not Contend with his Said Lordship but for the Saveing Costs Labour
and Expences about the premisses Submits himself at fine with his Said Lordship and puts himself
upon favour of the Court    Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being Seen and by the Court
fully understood it is Considered by the Court here that the af^d. John Watkins for the offence af^d.
be taken &^c.    Which Said John Watkins present here in Court as af^d. is fined for the offence af^d. the Sum
of five Shillings Cur^t Money which he paid tot he Sheriff for the use of his Lordship &^c
