	@	Command was given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should Take John Cox
WH	John Cox	Late of Somerset County Inholder if he Otherwise Called I John Cox of Somerset County Maryland

Inholder if he Should be found in his Bailywick and him Should Safe keep so that he might have his body before
the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of June
Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty One to Answer unto William Geddes of A plea that he
Render him the Sum of Twenty Eight Pounds Cur^t Money of Maryland which to him he Owes and unjustly
detains and So forth and the Same day is given to the af^d. William here &^c
      Att which day here Came the af^d. William Geddes by George Hayward his Attorney and the Sheriff
to witt John Dennis Gen^t now here Returned that he had taken the af^d. John Cox whose body here at this day
he had Ready to Answer the af^d. William Geddes of the af^d. plea as to him it was Commanded
      Whereupon the Said John Cox at the prayer of the af^d. William Geddes is Adjudged to Give
Special Bail to the Action af^d. Thereupon a Certain William Roberson of Somerset County planter
Present here in Court in his Proper Person undertook for the Said John Cox and Assumed upon himself that
if it Should happen that Judgment in the plea af^d. Should be Rendred for the Said William Geddes Against
the af^d. John Cox or that he the Said John Cox Should be therein Convict that then he the Said John Cox Should
pay and Satisfie unto the af^d. William Geddes the Judgment of the Court thereupon or Render his body in
Execution of Such Judgment to the Prison of the Sheriff of the County af^d. in Satisfaction thereof or that
he the Said William Roberson will do the Same for him &^c
      Whereupon the Said John Cox puts in his place William Hayward Gen^t Attorney at Law
Against the af^d. W^m. Geddes in the af^d. plea
      And thereupon at the prayer of the Parties af^d. day is to them now here Given untill next
Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August then next following to be he in the State
that now Saveing to the parties af^d. &^c
      Att which day here Came the parties af^d. by their Attorneys af^d. And thereupon the Said William
Roberson Special Bail of the af^d. John Cox in his proper person Comes and prays that for his Indemnity he may be discharged of and from
his Manucaption and Bail piece af^d. Entred into for the Said John Cox Whereupon the Said W^m. Roberson of his Manucaption and Bail piece af^d.
is discharged &^c. Thereupon the Said John Cox being present here in Court in his proper person is Committed to the Custody of John Dennis Gen^t the
Sheriff of the County of Somerset thereto Remain &^c.    And thereupon the Said W^m. Geddes declared Against the af^d. John Cox in the plea af^d.
in form following    Somerset fs^t John Cox Late of Somerset County Inholder Otherwise Called I John Cox of Somerset County
Maryland Inhodler was Summoned to Answer unto William Geddes of A plea that he Render him the Sum of Twenty Eight
pounds Current Money of Maryland which to him he Owes and Unjustly detains and So forth
   And Whereupon the Said William Geddes by George Hayward his Attorney Says that Whereas the
Said John Cox on the tenth of July Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred fifty and Nine at the County af^d.
by his Certain Writing Obligatory Sealed with the Seal of the Said John here in Court Shews whose date is
the day and Year af^d. Acknowledged himself to be held and firmly bound unto the Said William in the af^d.
Sum of Twenty Eight Pounds Cur^t Money af^d. to be paid unto the Said William when he Should be thereto
afterwards Required Nevertheless the Said John Altho often Required the af^d. Sum of Twenty
Eight Pounds Cur^t Money af^d. to the af^d. William he hath not Rendred but the Same to him to Render
