Parish afd. in the County afd. did Commit Fornication with a Certain Eliza. Bounds and a Bastard Child on the body of the Said Elizabeth then and there did beget to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in Such Case Offending Against the Peace of the Said Lord Propry that now is his Good Rule and Government and Contrary to the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and Provided and So forth Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take the Said Anthony Collins if he Should be found in his Bailywick and him Should Safe keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August Anno Dom. 1761 to Answer unto his Said Lordship of and Concerning the Indictment afd. &c And the afd. Sheriff at the Same day Returned that he had taken the afd. Anthony Collins as by the writt he was Commanded but the Anthony Said Sheriff at the Same day altho Solemnly Called brings not in the body of the Same ^ Return of the Precept afd. but made default Thereupon day is Given by the Court here unto the afd. Sheriff untill next Court to be held at Princes Ann Town in and for the County afd. the third Tuesday of November then next following for the bringing in of the Said Anthony Collins to Answer &c. under the Penalty of being Amerced thirty Shillings Curt. Money of Maryland and Paying all fees Arising due by means of the Prosecution afd. Att which Said third Tuesday of November and Year afd. Came the afd. Anthony Collins in his proper person and hereupon the Said Anthony had a hearing of the Indictment afd. Above upon him Imposed Saith that he Cannot deny but that he is Guilty of the Premisses in the Indictment afd. Above upon him Imposed in Manner and form as by the Indictment afd. Above Against him Supposed and is Willing to pay his fine for the Same &c Whereupon all and Singular the Premisses being Seen and by the Court here fully understood it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Anthony Collins for the Premisses and offences afd. in the Indictment afd. Above Specified be taken which Said Anthony Collins present here in Court in his proper person is fined for the Premisses and Offence afd. the Sum of thirty Shillings which was paid to the Sheriff for the use of the County &c Whereupon the Said Anthony Collins present here in Court in his Proper Person is Ordered to Give Security to Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from all Costs Charges and troubles that may Accrew by means of the Birth of the Bastard Child afd. Thereupon a Certain James Quartermus of Somerset County Planter Present here in Court in his Proper Person undertook for the Said Anthony Collins and Acknowledged himself to be Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Propry in the Sum of Twenty Pounds Curt Money of Maryland of his body Goods and Chattles Lands and tenements to be made and Levied if it happen that the afd. James Quatermus do not Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from all Costs Charges and troubles that may Accrew by Means of the birth of the bastard Child afd. Born of the Body of Elizth. Bounds &c
with force and Arms at the Parish afd. in the County afd. in and upon a Certain James Fletcher in the peace of God And the Said Lord Propry then and there being an Assault did Make and him the Said James then and there did beat Wound and Ill treat So that of his Life it was Much dispaired and other Harms to him the Said James then and there did to the Great damage of the Said James and Against the peace of his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord Propry that now is his good Rule and Government and So forth Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take the Said Charles Henderson if &c. to Answer &c. And now to witt at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of March being the Seventeenth day of the Same Month Anno Dom. 1761 before his Lordships Justices Came the afd.
